Current Temps @ Bios :
Ambient : 31 C
CPU : 41 C

Fans :
PSU
Front bottom Intake
Rear below PSU Intake (Gonna try this as an Exhaust)

These temps look right? I built an almost identical system a while back and my temps seemed lower. I used AS2 and a generic shim. What do ya'll think of the Volcano 2 performance wise? noise wise? lookin for something quiet.

Volcano is good bank for the buck performance, but that comes at a cost: sound. That thing is loud as hell. I have the Tiasol copper bottomed cooler >>> much quieter ;)

ive used the volcano2 on a 1.4 birdy and i got about high 40's low 50's. Those reeally good temps considering it is not that great of a hsf. What motherboard do you have? that could also play a role in the temps as some motherboards give less accurate readings than others.

I have a 1.4ghz Tbird with a Volcano 2 in a Antec SX830 case with 4 case fans with a MSI K7T266 Pro 2 mobo. CPU Temps are around 41-42 C idle and 47-48 at full load.
My system temp is usually around 28 C. My temps are pretty close to yours. Since I don't overclock, it does a good job for an $8 cooler. Pretty quiet too.
