Tell Me Your Opteron 165 Settings!

Im trying to overclock my opteron 165. The stepping is 0551WPMW. Im using an Asus A8N-SLI Premium Mobo, 2 gigs of value Ram (4x512) (I know ill eventually get somethig better), an xfx 7800 gt oc extreme, 160 gig sata hitachi hdd, 500 watt psu. Any help is appreciated. Im looking for 2.6 ghz. Thanks

Well to go very high, you'll need a divider on that memory. But anyhow, I'd start by seeing what you can do on stock volts.

I used to have the A8N Premium so I know it pretty well. In bios, in jumperfree settings or something like that switch your max memclock to 333mhz. If it's not in jumperfree settings thing then its in dram configuration.

But if you're a noob at oc'ing, go to firingsquad.com forums and post your system specs in "Lenin's oc'ing thread." Lenin is a great guy and will give you all the settings for your particular motherboard and processor.

Oh, a new production code 0551 WPMW...have only heard of UPMW and VPMW of that week..tell us how it goes :D

In BIOS go to =>CPU Options => Memory. Set to manual and the memory timing to "DDR266", which gives you a comfortably high divider to take memory out of equasion first. I e.g. run "DDR333", which gives me 245MHz@2700MHz CPU (quality ram required ;) )
With 4 sticks you also may try 2T first when looking for your processors max.
