Tell me why 1440p is ok

I've been using 4K since 2015. I haven't had any display scaling issues with applications for some time now. Most maintained applications have been updated with support. In the end it comes down to preference. I prioritized resolution over refresh rate. I spend far more time reading text than playing games. And text looks much better on high DPI screens.

Well, I'm getting neither - 1440p, and 75 refresh with Freesynch - but people have made a case for that being fine.
