This notebook caught my eye and was wondering whether it would cut the mustard. I don't know anything about Notebooks or to be honest AMD CPU's.

I don't really think I'll use it that much however, when I do it has gotta be able to do whatever I throw at it. I want' to be able to use Photoshop CS and play a few recent FPS games when I'm feeling that way, but does any of these Acer Notebooks provide this?

Thanks for any asistance.

(I know it has a carbon fibre case but it's cool as hell, but if it's a load of tripe then I'm not going there and will look elsewhere) :)

with the built in radeon x700 video card, you'll have a hard time playing some recent fps games. try looking for notebooks that have a 6800 ultra or whatever the current high-end video card for notebooks are.

I wouldn't recommend getting a gaming laptop. They're really heavy and the battery life sucks. Stick with your desktop for gaming. The Radeon Xpress 200 is basically an integrated X200, which is a downclocked X600. Get the X700. It should be able to play most games, but not at very good quality. CS 1.6 should be perfectly fine, and CSS will be playable. BF2 will probably run at low resolution/quality, but really intensive games like F.E.A.R. will most likely be unplayable.

Okay. No gaming then. To be fair thats not the reason I want one. However, I really fancy this Acer Notebook. Does anyone know what the screen looks like. I like those that look like glass as they are really clear. I cannot find any information on this at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks all. ;)

To be fair, ask this question over on the "SFF, Notebook" forum. I have see some excellent reports on the Acer Ferrari. There is more to life than wasting time playing games. :)

Dead right. I'd rather spend a few hours with my 2 year old little boy, there is no beating it. :D

[edit]

I'll try the Notebook forum. ;
