ok.. ever since i installed 3 of these heavy duty delta 120mm fans that push 130cfm @ 1 amp and 7w each on the side of my case my sound card has been hissing and crackling. when i replaced them with quieter and less power ones the hissing and crackling went away.

the only thing that comes to my mind is the power consumption of the fans was pulling a lot of power and making interference with the sound card.

now.. i want some one to tell me that that is impossible, because ive never heard of such a thing.

hmm the only thing that i can think of is EMI (Electro Magnetic Interfearence) since the Deltas are quite powerful they might have created a magnetic field which interfeared with your soundcard, but i don't think that that is possible, that has to do with if the fans are brushless or not.....

Well, I remember it used to be the case, that you couldn't plug hard drives and components into powerful fan power passthrough cables because the power wasn't as "clean" as straight from the PS. I don't think this is the case anymore, but what you describe is entirely possible... You might try checking to make sure your case is properly grounded.
