So if I add one behavior assignment with 5pt max, if they get a 5 that would give them a 5% boost on their overall grade. Moreover, since all the other categories only add up to 95% nobody should be able to get over that, yet I have a student at 97% and a student at 99%.

This is with no behavior assignments. When I add a behavior assignment and give it a max score of 5pts and assign a student 5pts for that behavior assignment...sometimes their grades go up by 1%, sometimes 3% sometimes 5

I'm baffled

Instead of worrying about that poor darling that is sitting on 99%, why not give the assignment to the student sitting on 45% to help him boost his grade. Or better yet, actually do somthing to get all kids over the pass grade.

What you idiots dont seem to realise is that not everyone is book smart. I could not sit still for 8 hours at school, because like all males i have a 15 minute attention span. There was a time when i would read electrical theory for hours and not understand it, my mentor showed me, and i understood in 5 minutes

Your kids would learn the topic if it was hands on or a bit tailored to be relevant to students lives.

but you wont do that, cause your a typical fucking teacher that is more worried about the top three kids, than the bottom three kids.

You are a prick.

yeah, i suppose so, i got the lowest possible mark when leaving high school. I am not stupid, i just never had the attention span required. I like working with my hands

I spent years after highschool confused about what to do next... i got myself a trade and i just did my contractors licence. I work for the government part time and next year i might work for myself on my own business. And do a diploma course as well

To understand Sea Moose you have to realize that ...

Sea Moose = spaceman

Enough said ...

I don't see anything wrong with your grading percentages OP.

Sea moose, I had no problem during high school and college balancing school and social life.

Are you a school teacher?

BURN IN HELL IF YOU ARE

excuse me?

and yeah easygrade pro. It slipped my mind because normally I just put a 0 until I get that assignment, but a lot of kids just didn't have the necessary time to make some stuff up and I had left spots blank - which left some categories blank for them.

I FUCKING PUT UP WITH YEARS OF BEING TOLD I WOULD NOT AMOUNT TO ANYTHING

Piss off teacher! Your not wanted here!

LEave them kids ALONE

Hell yeah ... QFT
personal experience guys ...

Maybe you should have payed a little bit more attention to those "stupid fucking teachers." Then, and maybe then, would your spelling and grammar be a little more acceptable. Nut case.

wa261, i have been called worse things. But you know i am right.

nope, youre wrong.

my kids teachers (7th grade in a tempe school) weight the classroom behavior higher than the 5% here. hell, the PE classes have 15 pts a day that are split between dress out, behavior and participation. if they dont perform they dont pass. your lack of control and focus is not the teachers fault, its yours for not caring. i have a serious lack of concentration usually, ive alt+tabbed 3 times so far just typing this. i passed most classes with As and Bs. mostly because i had to force myself to do the work.

plain and simple, you get out of school what you put in. you didnt put in any effort, you got nothing out of it.

ps. saying that "phoenix suburbs" are all shitty areas riddled with crime and bad people is crap. there are definitely pockets of shitty areas but for the most part there are decent neighborhoods all over the place. even in south phx there are some really decent areas.

yeah just because you managed to "tough it out" it doesn't mean others are as capable of doing so. Also not all people suffer through school, so in a way, you're needlessly suffering simply because school wasn't designed with you in mind.

Why not just calculate their weighted average based on your percentages, then divide the total by 95? So 95/95 = 100% at this point in the semester.
