Tell me how to make my bike faster

Larger chainrings or smaller cog set.

Lighter tires and or tubes.

Alloy nipples.

Anything you can do to make it lighter will help somewhat.

EDIT: Also higher pressure tires, skinny tires = less rolling resistance

STICKERS, DECALS, THE WORKS.

Rock-Shock, Racing Edition, Off-Roading Edition, Titanium Stickers. All of them.

Does your bike have a extra shocks or larger handlebars because those help too.

besides learning the proper techniques of racing...
Assuming you are road biking and not downhill I would get better tires, ie less tred and higher pressure.
Get a lighter front and read fork, bigger gears (with a lighter metal), skinner handelbars...

Brutuskend had some good advice as well.

You could buy a carbon fiber frame! Or those really expensive rims!

u probably dont need a new freewheel or crankset unless they are broken.

What you want to do is make sure you're set up on the bike correctly.

1)sit on the bike with your cranks up and down.

Put your seat at the height where when the pedal is at the bottom your leg is almost fully extended (your knee should be very slightly bent).

2)sit on your bike with your cranks horizontal.

Check to see that a straight line falls thru your knee cap, thru the balls of your foot and thru the center point of the pedal. If it doesn't, move your seat forwards or backwards accordingly.

also if you want to lose weight, and depending how expensive your bike was, the cheapest places to lose a lot of weight relativly cheaply is to replace your seat, seatpost, stem, handlebar with lightweight parts.

lightweight wheels can be pricey.

The biggest weight savings that effect speed is in the wheels. The further out you go on the wheels, the more the weight savings will be felt.

It's like the flywheel of a car. The lighter the flywheel the less energy it takes to get it spinning, and the less energy it takes to STOP it.

Lighter rims, lighter tires, lighter tubes, less spokes, alloy nipples, and fewer crosses in the lace pattern.

The avarage wheel uses a 3 cross pattern. The fewer crosses you use the shorter the spoke will be = less weight.

You can go 3X 2X 1X or radial (No crosses) I use radial on my road bikes front wheel and a half radial (Non drive side) on the rear.

BTW: I work in a shop and build SWEEET wheel sets, if you want a wheel set built, PM me!

Unless you are talking about a bicycle..

Get road tires 1.25" if you have a mtb but riding on pavement. ATB tires have way too much resistance in them for road use.
