Tell me about the Nissan 240 SX

I'm thinking about getting a 88-92 or so 240 SX. How is this car in terms of reliability and comfort? Will it hold an almost 6' guy comfortably? Also how well do these tweak out? (only under the hood, I don't go for the show stuff )

Pretty hard to switch gears, I heard him saying.. you kinda have to force it
He is around 6'2 and he has to move the chair ALL THE WAY BACK to the back seat.. (this is a four seater) If you are seating 4, you have to scoot your chair up and your legs will probably be squashed. Otherwise, it is pretty cool.

so what condition was the car when he got it for 1k? Damn, if I could find a decent one at that price, it'd be mine I'd like to have a project car, and I figure I'd start with a RWD compact sports car.

Yeah I don't give a sh!t about the rear seats. I'd probably take them out to cut weight.

I hear stock, the engine is a dog. Is there an easy way to get around this?

Drop a SR20DET engine into it. Thats what the 240sx got in Japan. Turbocharged 4 doing 200 HP approximately. Most people in Japan get that engine to 300 with little internal engine work. My friend has a 97 240sx with the SR20DET now and it is very smooth and revs like theres no tomorrow.

Or get a turbo kit for the engine you already have. But it has to be a 91 or above as they don't make turbo kits for the 89-90 SOHC engine.

I have an '89 240SX. I'm 6'2" and I fit great in it. but if you plan on driving more than one other person around beware. the back seat is almost nonexistent. I'm not much of a car guy, so I can't comment on tweaking it out.

if you can afford one, if oyu cant save up, get a newer one. it's damn nice.
