It seems more likely than not that Biden is going to be the president. I'm just curious what policies do you want to see put in place or what changes do you see as a positive that are going to take place?

Expansion of the ACA to make insurance more affordable for regular people. Roll back of Trump's tax cuts on the rich. Assistance for families to afford child care. Rollback of Trump's rules allowing more air pollution/mercury poisoning/etc.

More than anything though, a restoration of the federal government that acts as a government for the country and not as an entity that exists for the personal and financial benefit of the president, and all the consequences that comes along with that for those who twisted it in the past.

Undo every single Trump Executive Order in the first week. Wipe them out. All of them.

Rebuild a functioning federal government. Yes, that means more bureaucracy but it also means a functioning State Department and other departments actually doing the work they were intended to do.

I actually worry about a Biden presidency resulting in a huge influx of migrants/asylum seekers at the border, especially come spring time—people thinking that now there’s a Dem they’ll get fair hearings etc. He will very quickly need to build the infrastructure to deal with that. But I suspect Rs would rather do nothing and then blame him for “open borders”.

I'm hoping Biden can use the threat of tariffs and blocking fossil fuel extraction on federal lands to extract a carbon tax from Mitch.

I'm also hoping he sticks to his guns if Mitch won't back down - even if it makes him a one-term President - so that renewables get developed a lot anyway for four years.

This is exactly what happens when you view videos and information only by your side.. you don't know what the other candidate wants.

Instead you assume you're going to be sold off to China or this is the end of the world. It's just stupid.

Do some actual fucking research instead of believing what they feed you in the bleach!

To dream the impossible dream of getting those few ultra-stinking-rich corruptive power brokers and corporate "lobbyists" out of the political mix and replace them with the will of the middle class and the poor. You know, The People who are the actual overwhelming majority of the nation.

Yes historically Democrats are more protectionist in trade than Republicans. Wall is stupid, hardened borders are good though, no real mention of it this election? Tough on trade with China, I support that but killing trade with allies? Energy should move to transition however oil and gas got us here and so integrated into modern economy its 100% necessary.
Time to fire 'only the best people' geez can a person pick worse?

I want one thing in particular. Lowering the potential age for Medicare to 60. It will cost more and I am fine with that. It was part of the platform, and I want to hold them to it.
People all over the world look forward to retiring earlier than 65.

With a GOP senate nothing law wise is really happening. Best we can hope for is cancelling shitty EO's by Trump, getting an AG that respects our laws and citizens, rebuild some global trust and hopefully wake up most mornings not worrying about what country we've provoked over twitter.

Though I already posted comments in another thread

- Professionals with relevant work experience and strict adherence to ethics rules in administration.
- Less institutional boogeymanning of American's and persons within US territories and more focus on policies and procedures that honor what the US is supposed to represent.
- Grown up's who understand what they are talking about communicating key facts to the public
- Thinking "forward" in terms of infrastructure and encouraging investments as such instead of trying to hold on to antiquated narratives for the sole purpose of election season talking points.
- Long winded, carefully researched and thought out detailed policy discussions
- Green energy because common fucking sense and it's a major growth industry
- Fighting the idiot brigade and moving forward on the path universal health coverage whether it through medicare for all or the public option. The relationship between patients, doctors and medical industry under the current US system of private insurance is a failed experiment.
- Ask why we are feeding an arms race in the middle east involving fucked up governments and stop calling bullshitting people that "It's just normalizing relations"
- Act in a manner that all American's are equal under the law and have a Justice Department that acts as such.
- Revisit the Trans pacific partnership because that was the way forward on confronting China's growth. Not assinine infatile "Ima do some pointless tarrifs for that rallies!!"
- Act in a manner that might put us on a path where the rest of the world won't see us as an untrustworthy, lying, murderour country with blood lust itching to kill around the world for "Gotta look strong in front of the fam yo!!"

Fuck it...I already covered a lot crap in other threads...I'm done wasting time.
I'll leave it at this

At the very least, I want public officials to act in a manner where they can set an example to the next generation. I should be able to let kids watch a fucking press conference without having to cringe.

I would like to know why the Right is compelled to lie as you have with the Milwaukee votes.
They take their cues from the top. The entire Trump campaign was built on relentlessly lying at every opportunity. When the leaders of the party tell their followers that the truth means absolutely nothing to them people tend to follow along.

voting and voting rights reform

Pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. That's why Mitch has got to go. It will never come up for a vote.

Notice this is an issue with the left when it shouldn't be.

Also we need national standards for voting. Ex: no wait more then 30 minutes. States can figure out how to get it done.

We'd like to start with not actively trying to kill people:

Probably could play this same ad with ____ democratic politician and it works as well. I'll vote democrat this fall but I'm not under some illusion they are the going to save us all. Hopefully they won't be actively trying to kill us like the Republicans are.

Going to be a tough slog though because Republicans aren't going to simply want to stop killing people just because a baby-eating liberal was elected president. Somehow I doubt the "we must respect our president" will no longer apply where their guy is not in office.

I love how he posted that in May, then in October, he became concerned about nepotism with Biden, and then proudly voted for Trump. This OP has mush for brains.

Our platform is to burn down your cities, take your TVs, and force you to get gay married to a trans person who is a muslim while being shown naked pictures of Hillary Clinton and bowing before the great God Obama in a re-education camp at your former wal-mart where radical ideas like equality, learning to ignore shit that doesn't impact you directly if other people do it, everyone should have healthcare, access to a quality education without going broke, decent housing and a job that pays a wage they can live on.

It will be your worst nightmare. You'll also learn that all votes matter.

This is the case for millions of Americans. It's easy to pretend you are an objective independent critical thinker in May but as the election gets closer and reality sets in and you realize you actually have to vote for a Democrat you start searching for any excuse not to go through with it. Any lame excuse will do from any source.

Election day a national holiday
Voting infrastructure aligned with census data and budget accordingly. Postal system should be provided funding to insure that it is fully up to task to support elections.
Do not fear paper ballots.
Do not fear proven solutions (our old mechanical machines never failed and they lasted decades)
Instead of deadlines, focus on getting votes counted.

Cutting myself off....
This might turn into a long rambling post....

Easy tiger. Let's just focus on turning America into Venezuela first and then cross those other bridges when we get there.

All of this plus, plus, plus, from one of the finest posters on this board.

Remove every single Trumper in government and investigate and prosecute as appropriate. Example: DeJoy

And THIS, from another poster I sometimes disagree with but also hold in high personal esteem.
