Is it as awesome as I imagine?

You forgot "Rudy". The only place I have been to in Indiana is Bloomington which was nice enough. I guess like every other state it has its good and bad spots.

It's about 5% good and 95% bad here.

I would say so :( but I was lucky to go to one of the better (academically) schools in IN.

I went to college for 2 years in Indiana. It's hot and humid in the summer, freezing cold in the winter (granted, the lake effect snow is kinda cool...for a week), and has no hills. Thankfully, it has a handful of trees, which means you don't notice the flatness as much as, say, North Dakota. There are a couple little hills in the south, but not much. Yes, it's got a low cost of living, but FYI Indiana has the highest ratio of U-Hauls leaving vs. entering the state, out of any of the 50.

i knew two sisters from there who were known for their bar fighting abilities. apparently they kicked a lot of ass, yet were both pretty good looking.

Depends on your age I guess, if you're looking to go out and have a good time then I'm not so sure that this is the best place, in comparison to other places anyway :p

i was born in south bend, went to college in indianapolis, and now live in a west-side burb of indy. you know that line in indiana jones where he get heckled for being named after the most boring state in the union???

it's almost true. most of the time nothing ever happens. sure there is the occasional gang war in gary, a couple races in indy where you watch people make a series of left turns, and the unfortunate let down in south bend during football season. but overall, it's a good place to raise a kid, have a steady job, and keep to yourself if you like that sort of thing.

also, we aren't inbred like our neighbors to the south. that's right, FU kentucky

I was born in Advance. Also, I lived in Mitchell for 2-3 years when I was in middle school. I have a lot of good memories there, although it isn't in my "top 10 most exciting states ever" list. One thing in their favor is that they have a lot of caves (I love spelunking).

I have lived in Indiana my entire life. Like most people have said it's definitely not the excitement capital of the world but most places I've lived here will provide a quiet, safe, laid back lifestyle. I've known quite a few people including my parents that have lived in many other states that would like to come back to the Indina lifestyle. It's definitely not for everyone, just depends what you're looking for!

Lafayette is an awesome town to live in.

That's my opinion of Indiana.

What's dangerous about the quarries?

Ever see Mellencamp?

Is he a god in IN?

I don't know of any toll roads in Indiana currently; definately not in the southern half.

We'll have a toll road once I-69 is built between Evansville and Indy. And why not, why pass it along to the taxpayers? Let those that use the road pay for it.

1. You don't know how deep it is. Chances are, it's deep. It seems to be big with highschoolers. I haven't heard of jumping in stripper pits since high school.

2. Yep.

3. No.

The average IQ of people in Indiana is around 60. This could be construed as a good or bad. :p

the quarries can be extremely deep (just like the gravel pits). This can create cold pockets that you may accidentally swim into and it is so cold it makes it too hard to swim out of it (or so they say).

Never seen Mellencamp. Can't really say that he's too horribly popular here, though he does put on free concerts in Indy periodically.

The toll roads in northern indiana are in the process of being leased out to a foreign company, so as to eliminate the debt our state has with them. They are going for billions of dollars!

I have seriously not seen that many backwoods rednecks in Indiana, contrary to popular belief. That is seriously just something people say when they've never visited Indiana.
