As for preformance, I have been getting 45MB/s from two old crappy Maxtors:D, so I suppose when I get my second 60GXP things will fly.

Even if you don't want raid, this is a great option for a controller card..even supports Hot swappable IDE...hehe:D

hmm i got the SIDE RAID 100 from mwave for around 58 (with second day air). I got this card because it was recommended by anadtech in their IDE Raid article :)

I agree. I had bought this somewhere else with a better rating. I was just remembering it, and wanted to post, but since I didn't remember wherer I bought it, I just found the cheapest pricewatch.com price. my bad..I got mine for $35

When I remember the site, I;ll post it....

Now I'm trying to figure out whether to pick up this one, or the iwill SideRAID 100 for $43 + $5 shipping......

Any idea if this or the Iwill can be used as just plain ATA100/133 cards without the RAID? Just in case I don't want raid further down the line, I at least would like to use it as an IDE controller.

The teckram card has been great to me.


I am using two unseasonably crappy drives and getting great transferrates on my server.


Supports 2 simul. cards too

I tried side raid and did some measurements with striping two of my seagate 7200rpms using HDTach and a striped array had slower throughput than the hard disk on its own...If you read newegg reviews, people will tell you the same. This card useless as far as raid goes
