It can be jumpered to 100Mhx FSB. No intermediate FSB speeds, no voltage adjustments. So if you've got an old Celeron that does 100FSB at or below default voltage, these work great!

well, the neo adapter isn't verified as working or not with this board, is that any cause for concern?
And besides, I know someone said it can be jumpered to 100mhz; but why would they do that but not allow for newer celerons? can someone tell me how to tell if the 100MHz bus is supported? if so, you can throw a P3 on here and rock for cheap; like a 550 or something; all for about $200, right?

100Mhz bus is provided only through unsupported "celeron overclock" jumper, which is clearly marked on the board.

Haven't tested it with a c2 yet... I'll get back to you!

please let me know how you fare with the c2; i'd run out and get the board and a c2-533 if it did; if not, i'd still settle for a p3-550 without hesitation; for only about $50 more; right?

but will you also need the neo adpater regardless of p3/c2?

I don't think you'd need an adapter for c2, if c2 works at all... That's the case with my BM6, anyway!

All I'll be able to tell you is whether it'll work without one.

dudes .. what are guys talking about ..this board for the price is really great... i purchase this board for my parents cause they wanted a PC but i ended up using it... it's DOES support the celery2 ... and if u get the NEo adapter u can get the P3 coppermines to work... plus in the bios their is FSB adjustment all the way up to 140mhz... i tested a celery 533@800mhz... this board kicks ass for the price ... only drawbacks is that there's no AGP.. so im still using my 2 voodoo2s pci.. hmm ..might get a geforce2 mx or voodoo5500 pci....

weezerdude:
It's cool that it works; but are you SURE that you ordered this specific version from this website? It says on their website,
S381-ML sold online is version 1.01 which does NOT support Pentium® III FC-PGA CPUs
And I thought that the celeron2 was considered fc-pga; not ppga anymore; are you sure? this board would be a way better deal than the MSI6182 board I got from justdeals like 2-3 months ago; 'cept that one was slot one and took coppermine without a prob; but it was $70.....

A Celeron2 is FC-PGA, and will require an adapter the same as any FC-PGA chip (ie Coppermine).

Please take weezerdude and his 8 posts here with a grain of salt.
(no offence weezerdude, I just think you are wrong)

P.S. The fact that they group the entire Celeron line together (Intel Celeron® S370 266-600Mhz w/Cache) should make you wonder.

P.P.S From Sales site Socket 370 architecture supports Celeron® processors 300Mhz-800Mhz Maybe they will work. I do have one of these on my shelf waiting for a home, maybe I'll pull it out, and see if my Celeron2 will work in it...

OK I got it. The Motherboard should support FC-PGA CPU's. They only say it won't support P3's because some P3's use a 133Mhz FSB, and the i810L only will support bus speed up to 100Mhz (due to 1/2 1/3 PCI clock dividers) So if they said it supported P3's, then it would have to support a 133Mhz FSB, and the i810L (as well as the Intel 810-DC100, and the old Intel 810) Do NOT.
Nevertheless I will test tonight and report back, but it is very feasible that you could run a P3 (with 100Mhz FSB) in this motherboard. (without adapter)

Do any of you gurus here have experience running these boards with Linux? Specifically Red Hat 6.2?

By the way, the S381-M+ with 4 meg of video RAM sells now for only $49.99. Good board for the parents, or just a web surfer.

I've ordered a couple of times from Tekram and have been very pleased with their service.

dude you guys are smoking crack.
theres not a single 810 chipset out there that doesnt support the fc-pgca celerons/pentium threes. go look at the intel chipset web site under 810 chipset.

However there is a 810e chipset which adds 133fsb to the chipset.

Thanks linuxboy. I'm ordering one here shortly. Gotta 533 Celeron that's been sitting around without a home.

chill buddy...
And yeah, it boots with a C2 533, so it will work with P3's also (up to 100Mhz FSB, so no P3 ***B's or *66/33 P3's (although weezerguy says that these MB's have FSB speeds up to 140 soooo))

Office boy, re: And yeah, it boots with a C2 533 <<<<<<<

So I can get a Celery C2 533 and slap (ever so gently...) it in there without NEO and it will work without any adjustments?

I just ordered 1 .... It doesn't say how much Video RAM is included... is it a shared memory issue? or does it have 4 or 8 onboard?....

Sorry to be so newbie but, what is an AMR slot or Audio riser slot?

Thanks

Would someone be so kind as to put this into laymens terms...

Thanks
