Well, I prefer nvidia chipsets (the one chip solution helps) and nvidia vid cards.
But the 6800s are crap....I had to play with my bios to make it even work (6800U) and the onboard Video Processor is non-functional...realllll great.
Shader Model 3.0, plus SLI mode.....and ATI's answer back was the X850? Wha?!
Support wise, ATI sucks.

LOL...would be great if they can somehow compete with nvidia and ATI's highend cards in the future

They have a very long way to go. Their next generation cores, dubbed the 8300 and 8600, are going to be out around the time ATI's R520 is out, and they will be comparable to Nvidia's 6200 and 6600, respectively. At another angle, the 8600 will have about as much beef as a radeon 9800, while G70 and R520 are on the market.
Definitely not going well for them at all, but if they don't blunder this generation launch as badly as lasts, they may actually sell some chips. Don't expect much from them until around R600, if they can last that long.
🙁

nah, just what brand you prefer deep inside 😉 (and you must have some bias deep inside ya...😉)
3Dfx will always be the company that revolutionized the consumer graphics market with the voodoo1. As of yet, i have not seen a more revolutionary leap than going from the pre voodoo1 days to the voodoo1.

You may be able to find a Duo on eBay, but a plain V8 can be had off Newegg for ~$75. The Duos would have been awesome had they worked.

That good, huh?😉 I would really like to see a "competitive" third supplier as well. Even if it's only in the midrange cards. He11, the midrange cards are better than 9800s.Originally posted by: Ronin
I actually have both Duo's (the V5 and the V8), in addition to the V3 and the V5 non duo. My suggestion is to wait for the next release of cards out of XGI.
