I hate tailgaters who tailgate because they think that drafting like the NASCAR drivers is the way you're supposed to drive.

Example :

2 lane road, meaning one lane for each direction of traffic. I have someone in front of me going 45mph in a 45mph speed limit zone. So, I leave some space between me and the car in front of me since a) I hate tailgaters b) See a.

Idiot behind me decides that he wants to go faster and that tailgating me, even though I can do nothing about the car in front of me, will force me to speed up and fill that 2 second or so gap I've left between myself and the car in front of me.

Agreed. Usually when some asshole does that to me, I gradually slow down. Pisses them off more.

I don't care how fast you're going - if you're in the fast lane and someone comes up on your ass then MOVE OVER. This really isn't a hard concept to grasp :roll:

I always move over if someone wants to go faster than me (as long as there isn't a car in front of me that's slowing ME down). But what pisses me off is when I move over for them, then they pass me at such a piddly-assed pace that I end up catching up with the guy in front of me and having to slow down. If you're going to pass me, do it with some BALLS.

Along the same lines, I hate it when someone is turning left on a busy road, and they take their sweet, dandy time. Maybe if they'd step on the gas a little bit, a few of the OTHER cars waiting to turn would have a chance. 99% of people out there drive with no consideration for the other drivers on the road, and don't care how much their idiotic driving habits cause more traffic.

Another thing that annoys me - on a multi-lane road where there are lanes at an intersection that are straight only, and the right lane is straight or right turn. If there is even one car in the straight only lane(s), 95% of people will get in the right lane, forcing everyone who wants to turn right to wait for the light to turn green.

So, so very true. That's probably what annoys me most of all - not so much the actual action, but just that so many people show absolutely no consideration that they could make things better by thinking just a little. Taking a left turn on a busy single lane road? Pull just a foot or so closer to the center of the lane so everyone going straight doesn't have to get backed up waiting for the one driver to turn, for example.

When I see those people talking on the cellphone or reading their newspaper or putting on their makeup and not paying attention to the road.
Also those people who drive right at or little below the speed limit instead of going with the traffic (highway mostly)

to all of you complaining about people tailing you when you are doing 15 above in the left lane - the left lane is for the fastest traffic on the road - treat it as a passing lane and get out of it if you're just going to do 15 over - if i wanna do 20 over - let me go.

I cant drive through residential neighborhoods with my stereo turned up at 6am, (nor would i but just to make my point) If i put glasspacks on my car they wouldnt meet acoustics regulations... But a fuggin harley drives by window every night at 3AM and it sounds like its 2 feet outside my bedroom window.

I have no idea what kind of car you drive, but can almost guarantee that a Harley will accelerate just as fast, if not faster, and is a lot more efficient with respect to fuel consumption. And if they didn't have the noise from the exhaust, inconsiderate asshole's like yourself would run them over because they cannot see them.

That forced me to speed in the slow lane because the fast lane is jammed up by idiots.

-using your breaks on the highway in a non emergency situation (i.e. there is not a car in front of you for more than a 1/4 mile)....if you need to slow down a bit *gasp* take your foot of the accelerator dont use your breaks!

-Slamming on your breaks at the first sign of percipitation......my god people you have wipers use them

-slamming on breaks because you are in a tunnel. on a bridge, or some other variant....wtf is this about?

-Rubber necking.....wtf?? flashing lights big f-ing deal keep driving retard!

-your turning signal is not there as a fashion excessory....use it...

-if your too much of a retard to be able to talk and drive at the same time....do us all a favor and drive yourself into a tree at high speeds.

There is a four-way stop near our house. It stays pretty busy all the time, and during rush hour, it backs up a long way. Anyway, the other day during rush hour, we were up to the actual stop sign awaiting our turn to go. Two of the cars take their turns and go, then the third one should have gone next, then us. But in the third car was a woman WRITING IN HER CHECKBOOK at the stop sign! It was her turn to go and she was totally not paying attention whatsoever! So the rest of us just started ignoring her and went on through the intersection, and the poor line of cars behind her just had to sit there behind her stupid butt. :roll:

I also wanted to throw in another side to this whole "driving slower in the left lane and not letting faster ones pass" argument. The only time I drive in the left lane and not let faster cars pass is between 5 and 7pm Monday thru Friday. That's because the left lane is the HOV lane during that time. HOV, for those of you who don't know, stands for High Occupancy Vehicle. You have to have 2 or more passengers in the car to use that lane during rush hour. And yes, the cops do check the lane and pull people over for violating the rule. Of course, that lane stays pretty clear while the other 3 lanes are wall to wall people. When I'm riding with my husband in the HOV lane, I DO NOT move over and let cars pass if there is only one person in their car because they aren't even supposed to be in that lane to start with. They are just impatient and won't stay in their other designated 3 lanes. If a car comes up behind me with 2+ riders, though, I will move over and let them pass (if there's room - sometimes there's not). Anyone else have HOV lanes on their interstates?

You are arguing that it is their fault that you created a dangerous situation because they didn't bend to your will.

Now I agree that people should be travelling at a reasonable rate in the left lane (i.e. 70 in a 65), but if they aren't, don't make the situation more dangerous. Toot your horn (politely) or flash your lights, or wait to pass on the right, if there is a good opportunity.

What I hate most is getting stuck behind a huge pvssy trying to make a left but has to wait for a 5 minute gap in traffic before going so. Sometimes this ends with me being stuck half way into the intersection, forced to turn left in a red, sigh....
