I'm curious about motherboards...yes, very vague, and very general, but the information I'd like to know is very general. There are just so many different code-numbers for the uninitiated when it comes to motherboards, and while I'm picking up on some, many are confusing.
My question is this? can anyone point me to a website that describes the importance of a chipset and its integration into a motherboard? What are the main differences between the best types, maybe why you pick one over another other than raw features?
What, for example, makes all the nForce sets supposedly (in many AnandTech Forumites minds) very good? Is it features, or are there actual construction differences that give the chipset a performance advantage?
Feel free to answer any of one of these questions, or none at all.
