I was given a few of these Nalgene 1 liter bottles. Using one as my water bottle for the Gym etc.. What I noticed is how neat they are, they go bone dry the moment you empty the bottle. If you wash one, no need to dry since it drys itself immediately even when drinking you can see the empty half bone dry, the water will not stick. They repel everything and feel smooth and very well constructed.

They make great water bottles since they are totally Inert and do not leach chemicals and can withstand even 400f degrees heat.

It is obvious these are special bottles, they feel different and are behave totally different than any other water bottle. I suspect they will stay clean and resist bacteria etc..

I wonder if there is a market for a 300 dollar Gym bottle for the rich, if you put it in a fancy box and market it right I think they would sell. It obviously has features that make it a superior product compared to all other bottles.

I'm happy with my <$50 Klean Kanteen bottles/cups that should be stainless steel and labeled using laser-etching.

I think I can put up with some water drops rather than spend $300.

But you're right, there is a market for dummies. Let's partner up :D

Yeah they are expensive as hell. Is it because Teflon is that expensive? The water tastes much better from the 300 dollar bottle, the clean Teflon bottle has zero odors and does not adulterate the natural underground aquifer water I purify through the RO system. Its like expensive audiophile speaker cables for water drinking. If people pay 400 dollars for brilliant pebbles, I think 300 dollar "Fancy gym bottles" will sell to the right crowd.

I use Teflon tape to wrap the threads on water pipes so they don't leak. The tape is pretty cheap but I'm not sure why I need a bottle made from it. Does it give my endowments more vigor or provide longer life? Then it might justify the price.

Well I was offered more bottles they were going to get rid (I guess they thought they were regular el-cheapo bottles and were gonna dump them in the big green container) I took all of em.

Now I have 15 of the 1 liter ones, 25 of the 250ml ones, 10 of the 2 liter ones and 20 of the 500ml ones. all new.

They are great for storing stuff. I used one for example to store olive oil so its in a smaller container in the kitchen without having to drag out the bigger one and its messier to use. its neat do see how the half stays bone dry I can invert and shake it and the top half goes bone dry quickly. So you would never waste product, The olive oil would drain out complexly, leaving a clean bone dry container with no wasted product. Stuff pours out nice and clean no issues.

For stuff like Ketchup etc, it would be a life saver. Can't they make teflon bottles cheap? Why are these bottles so expensive, they have tons of great features compared to regular containers its a shame that they are super expensive.

I scored a llbean KleenKanteen with a neoprene cover for $1 at goodwill. A few days later I took the cover off and found it was engraved with my somewhat unusual first name. Score!

Obligatory "if nothing sticks to Teflon, than how do they stick Teflon onto the Water Bottle?" question.

The better question is if it's not all that great for people to cook with Teflon pans, why should I drink water out of a Teflon coated bottle?

That would also concern me.

Although I thought the "cooking" problem was caused by excess heat. Above 500 degrees, Teflon releases fumes that can be fatal to parrots and other birds.
(For the same reason, I also avoid Teflon coated clothes irons)

Because you are burning teflon and it decomposed into things like hydrogen flouride which is bad for you. I think this happens when people let pans overheat past 260 celcius which is the max working temp.

The reason Teflon is so inert is because the extremely strong carbon and fluorine bond and it takes a lot of work to break that bond. But Teflon bottles are totally safe for use as a drinking bottle, no leaching chemicals and even bacteria cannot hold on so it offers additional qualities that regular nalgenes do not have.

I guess I'm the wrong market for these $300 water bottles, cause I think the plastic bottle that houses my Walmart brand bottled water is fine cause that water tastes great.

Not you but I bet there is enough people you can market a 300 dollar water bottle to make it a very profitable venture. It is all about marketing, putting it in the nice box with a bow and offering a new bauble to add the the totem pole. I bet you did not know people pay close to 7000 dollars for a regular three pronged power cord.

Water bottles don't have counter spiral geometry.

Also, WTF?
