Teens try to sexually assault woman...

mmntech

Lifer
...who's a Kung fu expert. The end result is exactly what you'd expect it to be.

One pulled in front of her as the other groped her from behind.

Little did they know that Dang had studied kung fu for 18 years at a martial arts school owned by her family.

"I grabbed him and said, 'You need to apologize, and he did,'" Dang is quoted as saying on Kval.com.

Then the second teen started swearing at her.

Dang said that something snapped inside her and she punched him twice in the face.

"He started coming in for a few, and I was lucky enough to dodge his shots. I came up for another one and I got him good, and I think that upset him," she told the news station.

Things escalated when one of the punks pulled out a knife, said Dang, and her instincts kicked in telling her to back off and play it safe.

Two people witnessed the confrontation and called 911. Police say an 18-year-old was arrested while the younger suspect was turned over to his parents.

"I think they knew they messed with the wrong girl," Dang said.

Click the link for a Videjo of her demonstrating her skills. Badass. ^_^

I hope the parents are responsible, and take the opportunity to teach their kid something.

Good for her! These asshats need to lean some people will fight back, and even the ones who don't are dialing 911.

if that was my 16 year old son, i actually probably would beat the living shit out of him.

Better Yet: Let *Her* beat the shit out of him, post the video to YouTube, and eMail the link to everyone on his Facebook friends list. :colbert:

I guess the two punk asses thought Asian women would be submissive...LOL...Keep it real goes wrong yo. Word.

That's good of the people to call the police. When me and my friends had knives swung at us at the gas station, there were about 20 people standing and watching doing nothing.

Next time, instead of hitting him in the face, she needs to kick him in the nuts. NOTHING puts down an aggressor faster.....and leaves a lasting impression! 😵

The story is kinda odd...she said she was felt up, told the guy to apologize and he did. Then she was cussed at by the other one and she punched the guy in the face a couple of times. Then be pulled the knife. I wonder if his lawyer will make a self defense claim. By her own words she snapped. I dont think cussing at someone gives them the right to punch you in the face. Dont get me wrong, it seems like this was leading to a rape, especially if the guy was walking around with a knife. But I'm wondering if her story gives them some loop holes to escape from. Any lawyers have any thoughts?

Very fucked up, your thought process is.

I'm not entirely surprised that you're from the "bay area".

And you apparently crawled out from under your bridge.

Too many times people get off on technicalities. I think she would have been better served not going on tv with her account of the story. She didnt say she felt she was threatened, just that she snapped. I would think a lawyer would exploit that, especially since its public record.

They were in acting in concert in the commission of a crime.

Next question?

Maybe, maybe not. There are cases where a victim says she was physically raped, and the rapist can get off because the he claims it was consensual and the court agrees. Whats not clear to me is whether or not a lawyer could claim this escalated because she punched the guy. She never said she felt was in danger until after the knife came out, but that happened after she snapped and initiated the physical confrontation and was kicking the guys ass.

There's a concept in Self Defense called "Disparity of Force" - meaning there are situations which are so unevenly matched that a reasonable person would agree that a one of the participants could kill or permanently damage another, even in the absence of a weapon. Examples:

- A young fit person against the elderly
- Multiple individuals versus a single person
- any adult attacking a child
- a healthy/fit person versus a a handicapped individual
- any time a Man attacks a Woman
- when one participant become so injured or incapacitated they are unable to defend against the other.

In the case here, we have 2 conditions met: Multiples versus a single, and Male on Female violence. Add to that the overt attempt to attack/rape a woman, and the presence of a weapon (knife)...

Ability - Yeah, 2 fit young men absolutely can overpower a woman

Opportunity - Yup: Exists - The young men put themselves there

Jeopardy - Absolutely - The youths indicated their intentions by their actions.

And yeah - She would walk.

Easily.

We could also have a discussion about Yet Another LibTard Incapable of Distinguishing Between Criminal and Victim... But this isn't P&N, so... :whiste:

Get a concealed carry permit, a pocket pistol, and training on how to use it.

If someone draws a knife on me they are going down, no hesitation. Too many people underestimate how lethal a knife is - if you've seen someone get killed in <1 second with a knife, you will think very differently.

Umm...show me where any state which has a Disparity of Force law, or one in Canada where the incident took place? This seems to be an argument for use when defending yourself when you kill or maim someone else. I dunno, it seems only people who carry guns even reference this argument. But for the sake of discussion lets look at it anyways.

Ability - The man she hit did not attack her, she attacked him. Yes there were two young men against a woman, but she attacked him. The other guy attacked her via groping, which is assault. But she did not attack him. She demanded an apology and he apologized. It also appears that the original groper did not attack her afterwards when she began fighting with the other guy.

Opportunity - If she said she tried to leave and he stopped her, that would be one thing. There was no attempt to flee.

Jeopardy - Simple fear is not enough to prove jeopardy. And from all indications, she exhibited anything but fear until after she beat the guy up and he brought out the knife. Again, I would prefer a lawyer to chime in here, but he might even be able to claim jeopardy because she was kicking his ass! He would bring out the disparity of force argument because she demonstrated clear martial arts ability which he lacked.

An interesting aspect to this is other people called the police. That could prove that she felt she was in jeopardy, as others felt the same say. But when did they call? Was it when she was groped? Was it when he was cussing at her? Was it when she started punching the guy? Was it when the knife came out?

You're an idiot. Since when is looking at all the facts and asking a question a bad thing? I tend default to the law of the streets philosophy. You start sh1t, dont cry when you get your ass kicked. But I'm also aware that the ass kickers often get in just as much trouble for seemingly doing the right thing. You might think my question is outrageous, but I dont assume the court system is infallible. When the law is involved nothing is black and white.
