Teen sues when people make fun of his mullet

Ali Mosslmani’s mullet is not here for your entertainment, people.

The Australian teenager’s hairdo recently inspired a series of memes — and he’s not happy about it. Apparently, this isn’t the type of attention he was going for when he got such a bold haircut.

The ’do is shaved on the sides and top, with long, luscious hair in the back. The photo was taken at an 18th birthday party. It blew up over the summer, receiving more than 11,415 comments, almost 10,000 likes, and more than 1.7 million views within one week.

A handful of publications jumped on the bandwagon, but the butt of the joke is not laughing.

Mosslmani, known as “Ziggy,” filed defamation suits against the Daily Mail, Sydney’s Daily Telegraph and the Australian Radio Network for publishing the photograph and making fun of his unique haircut, according to Mashable.

Ziggy is claiming the outlets defamed him through a series of memes, Photoshopping “pictures of the plaintiff … on Mount Rushmore, on a dollar bill, as ‘pin the tail on the donkey’ and as a horse,” according to the legal records.

He says that coverage from the three outlets were defamatory by implying that he was a “ridiculous person” whose haircut was “controversial,” “silly,” and “hideously ugly.” Ouch.

And the offending memes:

Pythagoras theorem, that is pretty funny.

Just kind of a bit of a flashback, I used to work with a guy claimed he was a Toolmaker and was a complete fraud. He had a few people snow jobbed and was trying to teach a younger guy that meant all the insides of a triangle equals 180 degrees.

I overheard it at the time and broke out laughing.

The guy couldn't hit his ass with both hands, I think he was just basically The Shop Rat.

Most have one.

clearly he's doing something right, unless that was a stripper party.
It's an out of my ass guess, but I'm thinking that something is having parents with money.

Whenever I see an undercut or... whatever the hell this kid is doing, I just think that they're going to be really disappointed in a year or two when the fad passes and half their head is still bald. Going from bald to good shoulder length hair is a yearlong process.

Hmmm not a bad business plan. Get a really crappy haircut, tatoo or anything else that will prompt people to make fun of you. Sue them. Graduate. Don't get a job because you have millions in your investment account and you're living off the interest.

I think this is what they mean when they talk about the American dream.

In this case Australian dream. 😛

Although last I checked those all involved drop bears.

Oh wow I just automatically assumed America because stuff like that typically happens there. Did not realize the lawsuit system was ridiculous in Australia too. I guess it is everywhere just a matter of how much people abuse it.

I imagine the final determination to win a case in Australia is whoever can walk through a spider nest first in the dark, to reach a certain goal marker. With random drop bears, of course.
