I think they need to train the kids how to not get into stupid fights, rather then provoke them. Is his PS3 really worth taking the robbers life? I think not.

Sorry to disagree but as soon as someone steps into your home with illegal intent his life is forfeit. This lowlife is only lucky that the kid had no real weapons training. The kid should have speared the sucker through. Its not like he could have known the robber would not hurt him or his sister. I am only happy that this kid doesn't have to live with the experience of actually killing someone, no matter how worthless the intruder.

Would you kill anyone over your possessions? If the answer is anything but no, you are a disgusting person.
Ahh, the argument from intimidation. Highly effective emotionally but logically bankrupt and a tacit admission that there is no intellectual foundation for the position.

A society where people cannot or do not use whatever force necessary (up to and including deadly force) to protect their property cannot be said to have any property rights at all. If a person can steal freely from another person without fear of immediate and physical reprecussions, then what incentive is there to avoid stealing?

Society is a higher form of evolution than an individual, and it is moral that individuals be sacrificed when they violate the rules of a society.

Call me disgusting if you like, but if you really believe what you're saying, then you are giving up the right to complain when you own possessions are stolen and when your own home is invaded.

I have a 46" Scottish Claymore in my room. If someone were busting into my house and ANY of my family was home, you better believe someone would get William Wallace'd.

Unfortunately too large for indoor use. Plus the claymore was primarily designed for armored opponents as you needed the inertia to penitrate heavy sometimes plate armor. Are you sure about the 46" , unless you are just referring to the blade most are/were about 56" long including hilt. Wakizashi are better length for indoor use. Even the Katana might have been a bit long for a hallway.

yes, if someone was robbing me, I would try to kill them too, they are tresspassing, let alone stealing my stuffs!

Being that your stuff is earned through the labor of your body in exchange for a portion of your limited lifespan, your stuff is an extension of your body and your life.

It doesn't matter that it's a material thing and easily replaced. Life is also easily replaced, just ask any single teen mother with a GED and 10 kids.

The people that think "its a material object and can be replaced", where can I line up for a few $1000 from the cash you are handing out from your $7/hr paycheck to replace my stuff if someone takes it? Didn't think so.

Now of course we have to work within the law, and you can't just shoot someone for stealing your game console. So all you have to do is use reasonable lawful physical force to prevent them from leaving your property with your stuff, and hopefully they will just go away empty handed. But if they resist and attempt to assault you or pull a knife or a gun to make you move, now they aren't just stealing, they are threatening you and you can legally escalate the necessary force to protect yourself.
