Su herself said they were going to keep prices high from now on, and you can see it in pricing of the 300/Furies. Now $999 might be a bit of an exaggeration but I expect AMD to try to sell it close to what Intel sells their 8-core at least initially.

I'm not sure why are you getting defensive. You always ask for sources and solid proof about any remotely positive news article related to Intel products, but apparently the same doesn't apply to AMD's products 1 year before launch based on a rubish news article from a clickbait website.

Given what AMD is saying right now you have to assume it will be the exact opposite of aggressive. They want to charge as much as they can. You should assume the 8 core will be $999 at launch regardless of performance... they can always cut the price later if (when) it doesn't sell. Intel can pretty easily ruin their plans but I don't think that'll happen since it would only cost Intel money.

Look at it like adding features to their current 4c/6c/8c lineup. HT is a new feature. Sure I could see them pricing their top chips slightly above Intel, but that $1k price point should probably be reserved for a 16c/32t chip.

Broadwell 10C/20T is 3Ghz at 140W on 14nm. I am sure you can do the rest of the calculations. And that's if we even imagine they have a somewhat competitive uarch.

AM4 is limited to dual channel and 16 PCIe lanes as well.

No one knows what the clocks will be but my guess is across the board 500 mhz lower than Intel.

AM4 will handle mainstream CPU's and APU's. If AMD does want to compete above the 4c i7 (price) level I'm skeptical that they won't bring a higher end mobo/socket to the mix. All speculation of course

If Zen ends up 10-20% slower clock for clock and the goal is to not end up priced 50% less than Intel I think my theory about product lineup has to happen.

Regarding Zen 2016Q4 release it was mentioned in the AMD 2015Q3 earnings call.

Anything not suiting the IST is a rubbish news site. At least for the moment, until they publish something that suits the IST agenda.

Also, if someone makes dead certain claims contradicting published info, I assume they have something to back that up with in order to be credible. When it comes to IST persons that are on the Intel payroll like ShintaiDK, usually they don't. They just speculate with no evidence or even logical reasoning to back it up, but still make dead certain claims making it sound like it's established facts. That's why I'm requesting sources from them before believing anything they write that contradict publicly available info. That's all.

Maybe, but again, the official word right now is H2-2017 for the Cannonlake family (no specific products mentioned). The launch date of your precious Zen isn't set in stone either, both could be delayed. Also the APUs will launch much closer to Cannonlake.

Are you mad Fjodor? I am doing the exact same thing you do in all Intel threads. Actually, there's a difference. Unlike your 'no Skylake till 2016' posts, I'm giving AMD the benefit of the doubt, even after successive failures.

After you repeatedly asked for them, I provided leaks about Broadwell-E packing more cores than Haswell-E. Meanwhile here I am still waiting for the desktop Cannonlake in Q1-2018 roadmap and some evidence to back up this statement:

You're just bitter because in 2016 you'll be sitting on an expensive and slow 4 core Intel CPU, while others will be using a cheaper and faster 8 core AMD CPU.
