Wow.. They take a $500 desktop processor.. downclock it by 50% and compare it to a $2000 server CPU. Damn Intel.. they must be horrified!

I'd love to know how they determined that Zeppelin is a "desktop die".
Anyone who knows it's features also knows that Zeppelin is infact a server design, barbe à queue.
Its just dirty marketing at its finest. Sure some companies feel the need to engage in that but when you have 90% of the market its pretty alarming they use flat out wrong language like that.

Zeppelin was indeed architected to scale out the way it was used in Naples and eventually ThreadRipper

They still "wouldn't" ..

Look at the bogus slides that ARE NOT LISTED AT INTEL all you want! They are NOT from intel.

Which of these scenarios do you think is most probable?
1) An embargoed slide deck with an embargo date < 24 hours old is not yet loaded onto the website
2) Volker Rißka, a respected tech journalist and editor at ComputerBase.de got duped into publishing fake slides
3) Intel redacted/removed certain slides before publication, as they were intended for in-person audience only

I don't know either, but until proven otherwise I'd lean towards #1

Were there any slides comparing security features?

I suspect not, no doubt intel wants this to fly completely under the radar.

Such as the ability for Skylake SP to perform encryption without having the keys in main memory? Yes, the slides mention that.

I got your damage control swinging.. How about TRUTH control?

Computerbase.de said:
AMD already lied several weeks ago Intel with benchmarks, which represented Naples alias Epyc as significantly stronger than Intels Xeon . The predecessor Broadwell-EP was always used. With Skylake-SP , the cards are remixed and Intel returns to its presentation. As part of a press workshop in mid-June at Intel's server headquarters in Hillsboro, Oregon, an entire hour of the first day was dedicated to the comparison with AMD Naples.

Why aren't these slides available/viewable on Intel's site, in either Press workshop or otherwise? The aforementioned slides do NOT appear in the link above.
The slides are shown on page 3 of Computerbase's SKL-SP launch article. You won't find them among the material of Intel's July 11 webcast, because they were presented by Intel to invited press at a series of workshops in Hillsboro, mid of June, i.e. a month ahead of the launch.

Not to mention that Intel has probably quickly learned of the backlash from communities like ours and deleted/won't upload the slides to its website now. Only problem.. they can't force the tech press to redact the slides now that they are in the public domain!

How pathetic of Intel, but this isn't out of character for them. Inferior products, superior marking: Intel

Intel had superior products for pretty much every metric that mattered for the past decade until AMD's Zeppelin-based products launched. Superior marketing or not, the giant has grown accustomed to not having to play defense.

I just bought another (yes, my third) "glued together" Ryzen 1700 CPU for $265 shipped after CC cashback. It wasn't but four months ago that a quality quad core cost around that price. Today, thanks to AMD returning to competition I can afford a server-first design octa-core for the same money. More energy-efficient crunching power for the TeAm, FTW.

This is true but I don't think it is due to inferior engineering prowess on the part of AMD. Intel has massive advantages of owning its own more advanced fabs and having way more revenue and profit to use on R&D. They squandered these advantages, and we are where we are now (with AMD competing and sometimes winning on almost every level.) because AMD has designed an excellent architecture that I believe is more forward-thinking and capable than Intel's.

I resent them calling it "glued together" when they refuse to put quality thermal solutions on their own products. They invite criticism with these statements.

Hey if it breaks you can always glue it back together again.

Now we know how they are going to make Ryzen APUs - they just need to glue together a Ryzen CPU and a Vega GPU. Can't be that hard, I'm sure I can do it. What epoxy do I need, Intel? Where do you get "Infinity Fabric" glue? My local retailer has never heard of it. Oh well.

Seriously though, AMD must be so happy. Not only did they deliver a knockout product in both Ryzen and Naples, but Intel made its first mistake in YEARS. When is the last time you saw an Intel product get a bad review? Its been ages. They have been so solid at delivering like clockwork, and now suddenly they make some pretty bad mistakes. What's happening Intel?

Your post comes off as a little frantic and aggressive. A calm look at this and the reputable sites circulating these slides would indicate they are indeed real.
The slides weren't even the first time that Intel disparaged AMD's approach. An Intel spokesperson also called it "stitching together 4 desktop dies" back in June in a response to following article (added at its bottom): http://www.barrons.com/articles/amd-reveals-epyc-details-intel-vows-to-top-it-1497997334

Oh come on people! LOOK at this slide.. Look at how anything in red doesn't line up, font size slightly different.. EASILY you can see the red section has been added..

I'm not a fan boy or anything else. If Cyrix made a cpu that I needed I would buy it, but I ALWAYS want the truth! How many of the Zen slides turned out to be bogus?

Just provide an intel link.. That's all ..

Dude whether it's real or not you are coming across a bit desperate, it's not a good look.
Besides looks pretty legit to me.
Just saying, no offence intended.

Well in this world media are manipulating us ...I'll wait until making final decision

I must say the slides look a little amateurish to say at least.

However it is a big fat fail. Either from Intel or the press.
