You know, Im really starting to realize that as human beings, we've created some incredible things. I take one look around my room and I see things like:

A TV, incredible when you think about it. A camera, I can actually take snapshots of the world. Speakers...I can have music and sound suddenly appear in front of me, hell, clocks, pens, my aquarium, my printer, my computer...all of these things around me, I can barely believe we actually built these things.

Sure, in some ways, life was better back then, but thats just meaningless pining. As much as a simple life would be nice, I love having all these things around me. I can know practically anything I want, just by checking the internet. I can talk to 5 people at once, while listening to music, and do countless other things that weren't even possible 10 years ago. I'd rather have it all then none of it.

When I look at the change between 1980 (when I was born) and now, things have changed so much. There was no internet, no cell phones, no computers... I can't imagine what it'll be like another 22 years from now.
 
Yep technology is so sweet. Sometimes I am surfing the net or thinking "I don't know how to do this; I'll go check the net" and realize that 10 years ago this didn't exist. Now we can find virtually anything in mere seconds. Never before has humankind had such quick and extensive access to vast amounts of knowledge. Pretty cool.
 
I know what you mean. Sometimes I wish I had been born about 30 years earlier, then I realize how much I love all this technology and change my mind 😀

Yes, it's cool. We have alot of cool stuff these days. It's a bit tough to compare these days to the days when technology was virtually nonexistant, because we didn't live in those days (except maybe Red Dawn and Harvey). Yeah, I'd rather have a heated/air conditioned car than a stage coach, but life was simpler then. It's not a choice that we can logically make, because we're only seeing one side.
 
It's crazy to think about, isn't it? I look around my room sometimes and I just say, "Wow." Take computers, for instance. Like you said, you can talk to several people at once, post on forums, read websites, listen to music, and work on schoolwork all at the same. Outside of just those things, you can play games (also remarkable things, in their own right, if you ask me), watch movies, use programs that let you create a digital representation of whatever you want, and so much more. Then you step away from the computer and see CD players, TVs, stereos, DVD players, videogame machines, and more. Quite amazing, some of the stuff we as humans have come up with.
