i finally broke down and subscribed. i have had subs before, but i got in on those $20 deals and such. well, it turns out, the last deal i went in on (through a friend, i know) i grabbed a dozen or so keys off of and they worked fine for months... now suddenly all pc's the keys were installed on are blacklisted. opps! i cant complain, i wasnt technically within the rules with those subs anyway.

but now i am. $278 after online code and tax... anyone want to give me a star? i feel like one.

Sooooo...let me get this straight. You bought pirated copies of microsoft software and now that they finally got turned off, you decided to sign up for technet and break the user agreement that says it's for testing purposes only?

I've been wanting to get a TechNet subscription for a while now. I was hoping the student discount would come back, but I doubt it will anytime soon.

It's worth it if you have multiple computers and use more than one of their programs. For Office alone it's a pretty good deal. I'll probably purchase it next week if I have some cash to spare.

TechNet is for evaluation, but there is no specified evaluation time. As long as you aren't reselling their software or freely distributing it, I don't think they care how long you use it or how many installs you have for your own use.

i did get the code for $251... just ends up being $278 after tax, and NO for when someone will enevitably ask- i did not claim tax exemption for this.

and to the notion of 'why not just steal anyway?', thats rubbish. microsoft would lock technet down to verified industry folk if they felt that way. furthermore, i am a little taken back about the idea where i use technet outside the elua., not sure why some are so quick to judge.

good thing ive gotten xp, vista ultimate 32/64, and 7 ultimate 32/64 from microsoft just by attending their events. its nice to use genuine copies!
