Techie gift idea for 20 year old

Lite-on 4x duel-format 411S DVD burner... I'm confident that there will be a firmware hack in the near future that allows burning of +R at 8x. 🙂

 
i'd wait on the DVD burner.

high capacity ~9GB dvd burners are supposed to come out soon, aren't they?
 
yeah, in april. but who knows how much they will cost and what speeds it'll burn at when it first gets introduced.

So far I am thinking of a inexpensive digicam, or possibly a bootable usb flashdrive any one know of a good site for those?
