hello!
when i want to install windows2000(bootable CD), it ask me for the promise fasttrack driver
for my raid system , this is no problem with a floppy drive .
is there way to load the promise driver without the floppy drive?
because i want to remove it and put a zip drive .
but the zip drive (zip 100) is scsi with a controller adaptec 2940au pci

 
u need a floppy. scsi wont help u if the scsi controller isnt loaded. =) u must have a floppy somewhere.
 
For cryin' out loud. How often do you install Windows2000? Just put a blasted floppy drive in when you do it.

just use a floppy. no, win2k doesnt know what the scsi controller IS, unless its old. just use a floppy goodlord.
 
I dont know why ppl have such a problem with the poor floppy. Granted that its only used for installation purposes. but man let it do its job.

on the other hand i dont know the Mobo ppl have not figured out a way to oust the darn slow ass floppy.

mabey b/c its cheap to have one other than Zip.
