Tech schools in Florida?

I recently decided I'm moving down to Florida in June after I graduate from highschool. I'm planning to major in CIS or CS and was wondering if anybody knows of any good tech schools or colleges that have a good CIS or CS program.

Well FIT is alright, and so is FAU, and more expensively is UM of course. I can only vouch for UM's CIS school, but it's very overprices IMO.


Other than that, there are trade schools like ATI and such, but I don't think I would settle for those types of tech school.

Florida International University also has computer science I believe. And yeah, UM is uber expensive

I'm in UF computer engineering. Awesome advisors. Good teachers. Big classes. If you wanted computers here, you'd be better off doing computer engineering. If you have any more specific questions, post away.

Here's the deal....my GF is moving down to florida in June and she will be moving to the city of Madiera Beach so I want to go to a good tech school that is not too far away from her. Hopefully within a two hours drive at the most. Since I havn't really decided my career path or anything like that, I decided I would just go down there with her and her family, especially since I wanted to move out of state anyways.

Look under listings in Tampa(20-45min away) and St Pete(0-25min) for what your interested. There are a ton of trade schools in the area. I take MS classes at one school and there are a bunch of schools that specialize in certifications for the IT field also. Also USF has CS and engineering. There is no shortage of schools in the area.

But if you have time to spend just learning, they'll definately teach you a bunch of really interesting "degrees" such as Computer Animation, Digital Media (very cool labs), film, Game Design/Development, Recording Arts (HIGH quality labs), Show Production and Touring. Awesome things to learn about if you have the extrra 24k a year.

ALSO, their recording labs are like a recording engineer's dream. And they are one of the only studios IN THE WORLD that still currently uses a 2inch wide analog tape in some of their recording for that warm, sweet sound. Mmmm.....i'd love to go there.

I'd think public colleges the good schools are UCF and UF. I'm going to UCF cause it's closer and I like that school more. Some private ones are FIT which is five minutes away from me and U of M. Check them out or PM if you have any questions.

What kind of opportunities would a degree from Full Sail leave me? I was going to look into the Computer Animation and Game Design/Development because that is something that interests me, but i never realized there was a school for that kind of stuff....I just dont want to waste three years in college and then not be left with any kind of job opportunities...and cost isn't a concern.

FallSail is alright. They help you look for jobs through the rest of your life. They give you crazy leads. So, if lifetime job leads are good for you, then that might be good
