Wow...I stand corrected.
nv haters: dont worry, nv will still sell 590's to people. just because our enthusiest view tells us better that this isnt a card that is optimal, people will still buy it. think of the guy at best buy that wants the best card regardless of price. toss up between 590 and 6990 if they happen to have both but i think the best buy guy would sell him on the nv
amd haters: that 590 may be nice but there is a tradeoff when your card is running on thin ice electrically and that danger reveals itself over time. running with such little headroom, or safety margin, presents a risk that the product would fail prematurely due to degredation relative to one with a sturdier design or higher safety margin.
lol you sound like Glenn beck. For no good reason I look around newegg for user comments on both 6990 and 590. I found 1 unhappy 590 owner because s/he fried their card by OC. I found 2 unhappy 6990 owners with BSOD, color mixup during load.
That can't be used as 590>6990 as the simple space is way too small atm. Note that those babies do fry if operated in an ill environment, and you really don't need to OC to kill it.
590's failure rate is far lower than forum rumors claimed to be,an 6990 has its own problems. Again, other than suckings lots of power and generate lots of heat, those cards does deliver in the correct hands.
