How do I disable the incoming telephone calls via my wireless router log in online? What is the option called in the settings? Is this possible? Is this even a thing? I know you can set a time to disable broadband, but I would like to know if this is possible for the landline phone too. I am with BT (UK) Appreciate the help :)

Not sure I understand, like you just want to do it on a time base period or permanently? If permanently you can just unplug or turn ringer off. For time based you could use a relay to turn the line off (basically cut the circuit). Then control the relay by something like a regular light timer or something. 12v relay powered by a 12v wall wart plugged into a timer, essentially.

I don't think she has a real "landline". Sounds like an ip phone.

I'd check with your provider, really depends on what kind of switch the landline is on but don't imagine it would have such feature. Though from a technical standpoint it would not be something that hard for a switch to be able to support, so it could very well be some kind of programming option. Whether or not they offer it is a whole other story though.

The relay option, while dirty, would probably work though, if you are familiar with splicing wire and soldiering. Though someone might have a better idea, maybe there's actually a product for that.

Actually one option might be an old school answering machine. Set it to pickup after 1 ring and then plug THAT into the timer. When the answering machine is turned on it will essentially intercept all calls. I don't know what happens if the tape is full though... like if it still intercepts it or not. Never really played with those so not sure if that would even work.

So, basically, you want the ability to ignore incoming calls?
K.I.S.S. approach, just unplug it from whatever it is hooked up to, and plug it back in when needed.

If that isn't an option for whatever reason, then, you need to know just how they wired you up, and without that info, it is really hard to help you out more.

this. it;s what i do. plus i don't think it's legal to play with the landline itself here in the UK as once behind the faceplate it belongs to BT

Unplug the phone from the jack or turn off ringer. Or forward to voicemail

Network switch, but since this is a real land line phone that won't work, but another idea I just thought of is if you switch to cordless, plug the base station into a timer. If the base station is off the cordless won't ring. For the person calling it will just keep ringing like no one is picking up. (I think) Make sure you get a cordless where the base station does not also act as a corded phone.
