I have used Ventrilo, Teamspeak, TeamTalk, and Skype. Skype only supports about 5 people tho, that is what is bad about skype, but other than that, here is how i rank them:

Skype>TeamSpeak>Ventrilo>TeamTalk

You can group with up to 5 friends on skype without running a server.

you have a conference call. go check it out at skypes website. It is normall a person to person thing, but can do up to 5 in a conference call.
