i tested teamspeak and ventrilo on my 3 home machines that are connected via a 100Mb/s switch. i still get a delay, about 2 seconds. is this normal? is there any voip software that will let more than one person on that doesn't have a delay, even if it is not free?

There is always going to be a slight delay.

The delay is less if you pay for a monthly vent server. However im not sure if you wanted to go this far. The delay can still be 1 - 2 seconds depending on everyones ping to the server.
