TS works regardless of whatever game you might be playing. It's entirely independant. And you should give Ventrilo a try as well. It's MUCH clearer than TS, at least in my experience.

I used to use TS all the time for Q3 games, it's one of the few clients that has a Linux port.

A few friends and I use TS to chat while playing BF:1942/DC and UT2k4. It works really well for us.

Another vote for ventrilo here. Just try and get the older versions, because they don't have as many restrictions. The newest versions restrict it to run on the default port, and my ISP blocks that port.

My friends and I use it when playing BF:V, and it works well, but I DO have one complaint....

For some reason, when BF:V changes maps, my computer has about an 80% chance that TS will go all static (for those hearing me. I can hear them no problem), and I will have to switch out of BF:V and actually close TS completely, restart it, and rejoin the server before the problem is fixed.

Only one of the other guys has had this happen, and only once. It happens to me almost every map change, and it's really aggrevating. I've done some swapping of versions on the client and server, and the codecs, trying to find a solution, but nothing so far. I really only mentioned this incase someone has a solution. :)

Well, you have to have a server to run the TS server program. Then you would both connect to that server

thanks :)

The sound quality of Ventrilo is noticeably clearer to me, especially when more than one person is speaking at once.

Yeah I figured it out last night  It wasn't too difficult, just downloaded the server and ran it on one machine... two clients later and we were up and running n gunning in Red Orchestra. And man, that auto-activation mic feature is cool as h*ll, does Ventrilo have it as well?
