Well... my last day at this job is July 8... For that of you that don't know, my company graciously hosts my server on one of their IP addresses over a T1. I think I'll be able to keep the stats server here at work for a short period of time after I leave, but I suspect that I'll have to pull the plug on it sooner or later, soooooo.... in preparation for moving the stats server into my living room, I've ordered a Dell SC420 because they are currently dirt cheap ($249 shipped) ... the details are below... the 160g SATA drive will be sold off and replaced with a pair of smaller mirrored drives... probably a pair of Seagate 40g Barracudas that I have kicking around. I'll eventually replace the Celeron with a P4... just not now... The current server has 4x 10k rpm 9g SCSI drives in RAID 5 along with two monster hs fans... my wife would kill me if that got moved into the living room... the 40g is more than the net 27g of the RAIDed SCSI drives, so there's room for growth. The OS will be Win2k Pro, running Apache 2, PHP 5, and whatever the latest version of MySQL is... Haven't had much time to play with the stats after the flurry of activity earlier this year... hope to get in there again shortly and fix the DPAD stats once and for all!
That's the news... weather and sports to follow 😛
