I hadn't realized today was the day. There were *very* few servers in the browser, and only a handful of players.

Edit: It could've been my connection crapping out, as well.

Yea cus you need to learn about all the different classes and what they do. It's the same thing like in any FPS that has different classes like BF2.

Except in BF2 they're straightforward. TF2 is like Mario Kart if it were an FPS, except Mario Kart has no learning curve and TF2 seems to have a huge one. BF2 is like Gran Turismo, but with nearly no learning curve.

I've been playing for like 5 hours and the only useful thing I've been doing is übering a heavy and storming a control point. Except the medic has a shitty gun. In BF2 the medic gets the G36E, arguably the best gun in the game.

The G36E is incredibly overpowered. I play medic a lot and that thing is like a mini-sniper on maps like Wake Island. I don't get TF2 very much either even though I've played it for quite a while. I eventually went back to BF2 as well because it just feels more natural to me. I guess the modern weapons (and the inclusion of vehicles) definitely make BF2 less random than TF2 is. IMO BF2 has a much steeper learning curve should you want to master all the classes.

I don't know how you can stand getting pounded in the ass by air all the time in BF2.

When I get frustrated with the air imbalance, I get onto an infantry only server so uh...problem solved.

Considering the poll on teamfortress.com about which part of the scout update you should get first, I'm not expecting anything complete any time soon.

What the hell are you nubs talking about? The scout is the MOST POWERFUL (along with the demoman) class in the game. This coming from a competitive TF2 player. Just learn how to use the class and you'll destroy anyone. Seriously, with his speed and damage ability up close, he's the most powerful offensive class in the game.

dude, i eat pyros for breakfast as scout, it's not even funny. Pyro is the worst combat class.

thats retarded...there are good pyros that will fuck you up. don't bring that worst combat class nonsense in here.
maybe on a very small square'd shaped map that forces both teams to spawn together then I would have to agree with above statement. Pyro's have little to none chance of winning in a 1on1 situation with most of the other classes considering both participants have decent skill on a duel_duel type map.

who gives a shit about 1v1 in tf2? thats fucking dumb and so are you for suggesting it.

    Added new sound for a fully charged medic dying

    Add bonus points section to scores

    Fixed stat screen showing an entry for a class called "map."

    Fixed item model panels not using team skins

    Fixed obscure bug where spectators were able to carry the flag


I'm interested to see what they did with backstabs. This could either be good (facestabs mostly fixed) or very bad (removal of quickstab to "stop" facestabs).

I've used them for every update. Never had any problems and I don't see how they could ever be not legit. Just another map.

Also right after I posted my earlier post they updated ugg. I've been playin Fallout 3. Damn the one time I don't check it goes up.

The Sandman is seems only to be good when on defense and it obviously has very limited use. No double jump which is always one of the Scout's advantages to be able to change direction in air. The only good use I can think of is stopping an Uber with the ball which is good but I wished it would recharge faster if you picked up some ammo/metal like the spy camo but I'm sure I won't use it much. Plus it does less damage than the regular bat. The Energy Drink, is obviously only good for going past sentries/a whole mess of enemies and takes place of the pistol which always comes in handy with the small clips of a Scout. The Force-A-Nature is pretty cool cus it has a faster firing rate and can knock back people and boost you higher when jumping but only two bullets which means reloading all the time which when there's a lot of enemies around, isn't good. Interesting choices but doesn't break the game at all.

The sandman is deadly when used in concert with another classes attack.
Bonk the medic and have a sniper pick him off or a pyro run in from behind and toast him.
It also seems to be good as an ambush weapon, wait around corners, bonk and beat the crap out of them.

can't play the game til i get home but i've been wondering, do you have to keep using the sandman for the stun to be in effect? can i stun and then shotgun them?

i'd say i'm a slightly above average scout. based on the unlocks, they are somewhat of a novelty but properly used with teamwork is going to piss off some other classes something fierce for a while, until scout pops go back down.

I played last night for the first time in about two months. Seems like every freaking server had 80 to 90 percent scouts :(. Maybe I'll play again in a couple more months - maybe it will be more balanced.

will probably try out pub pyro for a while, i doubt heavy will be as useful as people think. then, when scout population goes down... back to spy to relearn and get those 3-4 chains i always see but never seem to get...
