mann up is 6 maps/missions, each time you join a game it uses a ticket if you beat the final wave, then you get goodies, when you do all 6 of the required maps then you get a strange bot weapon. you only lose tickets on completion of a mission.

if you don't care about loot just play the same maps in bootcamp on advanced.

Thanks. A ticket a game is too steep for my blood. Bootcamp is A-Ok with me.

Just join one with 4 players then, and either vote to restart or finish up the game and wait for the map to cycle over, games are pretty fast especially on easy, probably just as long as waiting for a server to pop in the queue, except you wont be bored waiting.

yea if they only had 4 people they probably were losing already, ready for a restart...

Finally got to play MvM tonight. It was a lot of fun, although the party system needs some work. You have to recreate it every time you disconnect or switch servers. hahaha..at one point 4 of the 6 players were engineers. I think heavy will be my backup when there are too many engineers. Heavy with maxed out speed and maybe increased fire rate is pretty devastating.

I played a bit.

This is so very lame.

It is predictable, there are no surprises. In the match I played we were never really in danger of losing.

Also, someone correct me, but does Source seem to have a lousy netcode? It feels like source games don't have as good movement as like unreal games when in MP.

I'll take them!

Funny...I'm only a couple of days late to the party and MvM already got lame.

Anyone think its strange that when someone drops out the difficulty doesnt scale appropriately? Lost three people to timeouts, but the game didnt adapt and we were repeatedly raped and had to leave the server. No one joined either, and this was after 3-4 rounds of 75% completed failures.

Yeah, I'm disappointed that the difficulty doesn't scale. The game is fun, but at the same time I'm not thrilled. I feel like they should reverse the way combat works. As of now, you get one-shotted constantly and it takes many shots to take most of them down. I'd rather take less damage, and be mowing them down; make overwhelming numbers the difficulty, not being one-shotted.

Well, no, maybe not even that. I feel like it's missing some kind of strategic element.

you are doing it wrong if you get one shotted that much, with health upgrades/heals/overheals only crit rockets which are slow one shot you at all...and an uber canteen solves that anyways. damage isn't that high always either, they clearly nerfed the huntsman arrows so you don't get one shotted, the snipers don't ever aim for your head either, you get a warning as long as you have more than half health by the first shot;)

it doesn't scale because if it did, people would stay servers partially filled and kick people to be alone, causing the queue to build up from all the server hogging.

survival is just a matter of strategy and technique, throw milk and shoot like mad while wading through money as the scout and you are almost invulnerable, as money over heals you. dump upgrades into milk charge rate and it respawns as fast as it wears off even.

the only class sort of vulnerable while wading into the hoard for kills and money is the pyro, but uber canteen solves that.

So I spent the entire day trying to play one game, just one game, where people don't quit and it just didn't happen. This game mode might be fun with 5 of your actual friends, but it's a failure when it comes to randoms.

starting to feel the same way.
I don't have many online "friends" let alone ones that play TF2. So it's becoming a bust for me. Right now, 20+ min wait. I'll go to something else.

I completed my first tour, it was a real chore getting a team that all didn't want to play sniper or engie. Mann Up mode is definitely more fun and challenging than boot camp though.

It seems fine until you lose a wave, then people start to bail. I have only played with one friend, and the rest randoms, and we've ran though some games no problem, until someone gets disconnected. Then we lose a wave because it gets unbalanced, and then people drop out left and right.
