You know I don't use the Axe as much as I should be. Getting something lit, switching weapons, then closing the distance it difficult at best. Often, because of how powerful the flamethrower is at close range, it's just easier to keep the heat on.

Heavies though. Hmm... I should be axing those instead of just 0-range circle strafing. I'll be doing that more. Thanks!

Quick tip:

When you spawn as a pyro or if you know you will be coming upon heavies soon, hit 3 and then 1 on your keyboard to switch to your axe and then back to your flamethrower. Now you can press Q to quickly switch between the flamethrower and axe. This is what I do and it works like a charm for taking heavies out with the axtinguisher.

Another tip. Use the third button on your mouse for "last weapon" instead of Q.

Sniper.

I just scored 50 points on gold rush tonight as a sniper. They seem overpowered, especially against heavies.

Agreed. I hate when you're on a team of like 9 guys and 3 are snipers and a) the same guys (ie you and two others lets say) keep dying as you are trying to push the cart against a bunch of demos/ w stickies. Or what's just as frustrating is if you have a ton of snipers on your team D, yet somehow you are continually getting sniped because theirs are so much better than yours..... But of course you don't want to be "that guy".....so you try to keep your mouth shut

I also agree KT is a good medic. He kept me alive alot when I was a noob. And that's hard to do, lol.....

My best class is solider since theyre easy to play. My most enjoyable class is playing a demo, esp on maps where you're defending choke points like goldrush and dustbowl. It's so enjoyable watching players run to the goal point then blowing them to smithereens.

I don't like using that because I all too often end up spinning the scroll wheel instead of just clicking it and get a weapon I don't want. Q is easier for me.

Unless by third button you mean one of the buttons on the side. I could try that.. but Q feels quite natural to me when using WASD...

Exactly. I could never use the mouse wheel either, but my Logitech G3 has a side button that happens to be right where my thumb rests.

The mouse wheel is good for other things anyway.

I love playing the medic and the solider. Heavy becomes number 1 if i have a medic buddy.

Btw, anyone see the reptilla video? He is considered the best soldier in the world and is absolutely crazy.
