Actually I have had to mess with priority settings to get them to crunch equally. Am running on dual machines for ease. ;)

I was thinking along the same lines.. install D2OL on the 1st cpu, SETI CLI on the 2nd. ;)

Welcome to D2OL, JW. :)

Thanks everyone!!

Ques: Is there any optimization that you should do to the client, like turning down the graphics detail, etc?

Dave, I simply moved one Celly-2-600@900 over from SETI. It will be interest to see how it does with this project.

JW, yes, open up the properties tab and disable animations, reduce detail to minimum, and use the little joystick at the bottom to stop rotation. Then Right Click and hide Agent from Taskbar. Thats about the best you can do other than try CLI or Folder.. or run Linux.. Linux is supposed to be 25-75 percent faster.

You will probably get 20-30 per day out of her with windows. :)

OK, joined, guess as soon as it completes a candidate it will show up. I've loaded it on my main rig here that already has SETI running, so far no appreciable hit anywhere in the system. Will see in the morning. This thing seems to be CPU and HD intensive while SETI is just about 100% Memory speed only.

Edit: OK, already see me show up on the Team List

You will show up within 5 minutes.. :) You can make the adjustments I posted to JW, that will help with memory usage. I dont see a lot of HDD activity on mine but I havent run SETI in ages to compare.

:( Oh, well! At least you tried!

Good going Dave! :)

JW you figure out what happened with your Win98 machine? Maybe it just got a corrupted install? I installed a new node the other day with just a basic install of Win Me upgrade, without updating all that mess from the update site and added the Agent and its working fine. Hopefully you will get it figured out soon. :)

Interesting news. I can have both SETI & D2OL running at same time with no problem, there is one catch. I have to turn the monitor off manually when not using the PC. All methods of putting monitor into power save causes the D2OL program to lock up the PC. Maybe someone can relay back to whoever did the code that the program doesn't work with DPMS or Vsync blanking etc.

Thanks dave, very interesting. Ill see if that has been a known concern in the past. I have been manually turn off my monitors on used rigs all along anyway as I dont use power saving. My other node doesnt even have a monitor attached.. LOL Shes a blind node ;).

Glad you got it figured out!
