hmm...I think I might bite on this one. How helpful would an amd 1.2, 1.4, and two duron 750's machines be? I could also client a duron 650 if it would help. I read something about some guy having 700 (?) comps so would 4-5 of my machines even be worth adding on?

Luckster, that would probably add between 12 - 15 work units per day if you ran the seti client on all of those machines. That is not trivial at all.
I only run 4 machines myself - we need you and all the new members, even if you can only do 1 Work Unit per day (or in some cases less) your active participation is what counts.
Also you never know who you might get turned on to the project!! Like I said I only do 12 - 14 WU's per day myself, but I have been instrumental in getting several other people started and they produce many times what I alone could do.
So come on over to the Dist. Comp. Forum and get going with it!!

Luckstar, even one PC will be a great help, 700 members with 1 PC is better than 1 member with 700 PCs, cos the members is what makes the TeAm what it is

Team AnandTech is good during a challenge, but the difference between TA and DSLR Team Starfire is persistence. Starfire doesn't slack off after a challenge. We maintain our increased production. TA will fall asleep again, within a few weeks of the finish and we'll cut their lead and pass them. I think its high time to show Raven45 and the other members of DSLR that we are prepared to take action! We have narrowed the difference in membership quite a bit, but we still need to add more to teach them a lesson!
