Information has been sent up. I'll be making a new thread when I receive any information back.

I am considering submiting / re-submitting the idea of a TeAm AnandTech t-shirt to the higher ups / AnandTech HQ. I've been thinking about this for a while, and I have decided to go ahead and try it. But in order to do so, I think we should have an idea of the design for the shirt. The last time this was discussed was in a thread back in June of 2007.

If we were going to present a t-shirt design, what design would you like? We could do a vote once enough suggestions are submitted, and the winner of the poll will be submitted. Maybe we could work this into a contest of some sort as well? Just an idea.

What shirt design would you want to wear to represent our TeAm?

UPDATE:
I will be submitted two t-shirts designs: one with Narzy's logo and one with the AnandTech logo (with A swoosh). Whatever design type wins the poll will be submitted.

By the way, if you have an idea that you think might be better than doing two submissions, one with each logo with the winning setup, by all means post it. I'm all ears! 🙂

Hehe my idea has been resurrected....
I'd opt for a big AnandTech logo with TeAm on top of it on the front and maybe something on the back.

i would like a big logo on the front of the t shirt

also, is there anyone here skilled with photoshop that could spice up the design a bit?

That is another reason I am going to be submitting. The worst thing that can happen is they say no, so if that is what we want, I say we go for it.
 
I like the idea, but would like to see a few designs before voting.

Designs:

1. Small logo on the right side of the t-shirt.
2. Big logo on the front side of the t-shirt.
3. Small logo on the front side (as #1) and the text "TeAm AnadTech" on the back side (my idea).

I'd like to have a small TeAm logo on front side , but instead of text on the back, maybe a larger Anandtech Logo and says either "TeAm AnandTech" or a slogan below the back logo.

I this fails (again), i wonder if we could just make some that have "TeAm" written on them? Certainly not the most elegant solution but it may be an option. I doubt that would violate any trademark, but i'm not positive on that.
 
I just remembered that someone put together some TeAm hats and T-Shirts as prototypes for a TeAm store. Somewhere in my archives I have a couple of pictures of the hat and shirt that was donated as part of a TeAm LAN party I hosted. I'll see if I can dig those up. If not, I know I have the hat around here somewhere, I made sure to keep it when we moved. The t-shirt was of very very poor quality though, as it slowly kept shrinking until it was impossible to wear. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it! 😉 😉 )

Sir, Tripleshot and I made those shirts and your assertion of quality issues pains me. I still have my shirts. They never fit! and they never will! (all mine are smalls)

We've gone through a few designs, we've tried and tried and tried to work with Anand and AnandTech to get the ball rolling and get people shirts, hats, toys...really anything they would buy and we could sell but it just never happen(s).

Weather it is an concern about brand confusion or dilution I don't know. Maybe the right people haven't asked...

A solution is to create our own Logo that doesn't use any of AnandTechs trademarks (like the A 'swoosh' or the word AnandTech) we can use the font however...it is called Pignose if you want to download it and play with it., I had one a long long time ago but it has since gone with the wind. I wish I could find it, it made some GREAT case badges.

one thought, we generally always refer to ourselves as TeAm, someone might be able to tie that in to a logo. If someone can find a royalty free image or logo that fits the TeAm that would also work.


I don't see the situation changing any time soon however.

but if you could get a shirt, what kind of shirt would you want? Polo? T-shirt? Long sleeve? button down? denim?

TeAm Idea The globe is from iStockphoto so if we want to use it I can buy it to print silk screened shirts. I also have an idea for case badges...🙂

Oh yeah, I made the logo in Microsoft Word 😉.

If you guys are interested I can do a run of these or we can tweak the logo a bit and do a run. I'd need to figure out how many, I'm thinking the cost will be around $20 per shirt shipped USPS priority (international will have to pay shipping difference) with discounts for more then 1 (the shipping cost is the same for the most part, you're limited by how much you can fit in the box, not how much it weighs) USPS has those flat rate boxes for domestic and international shipping so I'd probably use those. These are very rough numbers, I don't know if I'll be able to stick to them if I do this but it will be a goal to get it done for that amount or less.

I also want to give 10% of any of the net profits (if there are any 😉 ) to a charity of our choosing and the rest can help pay my way through college 😉.
