RC5, At the risk of seeming uninformed, I must ask what this is.
I mean which project/challenge is it? I don't spend enough time in here anymore to keep up, I guess...

Thanks,

Geoff

I was wondering if anyone had volunteered to do a daily MM post for the TA effort yet.
If not I think I could give it a shot.

A few questions for the team

1. First off would there be interest in this?
2. What would constitute a MM? (100's 1000's, etc)
3. Since stats for this project are posted several times a day, when would the MM's be taken?

Just some thoughts I had.. any comments?

This is bascially another code cracking like rc5-64, yet much smaller thou.
It's expected the whole project will take 6 months with 10,000 participants.

I haven't figured out what "MM" stands for.

It seems a 1G machine can pump 80 points per day at least.
So 100 is a tiny MM, 1000 and 10000 are real MMs, 100000 is a great MM.

Sounds good.. perhaps for a while to draw interest every 500.. seeing as there are only 12 members so far

Since there are only a few members, how about all using the same name, that way Team Anandtech would be a single user in a team. (mini team idea)

what speeds are you getting?
I'm running it on a P4 1.4Ghz here and it's getting a little under 200k it/s, while
my cel@466 does 165k it/s.

Then how do you know who wins $1000? 🙂

There will be 2 winners due to the way of Eccp-109 contest. You automatically abandon the possibility of two AT members winning two prizes together.

My 825Mhz duron runs 360-370k iterations per second. It dumped 47 points in a whole day cracking.

That's what I thought (although I never use the gamebox), or maybe for Mika's proxy. (Or the start of warpcore II, dual durons)
And what's the chance 2 members of TA will win? I'd take that chance.
