Unless a very large dump (VLD-M) comes our way, TA will get stompd by Free-DC inDPAD within 36 hours. :(

I've been debugging muon1 under Windows XP x64 and have sent the info to Stephen Brooks to see if it can be fixed. Then I'll have 3 FX-60s running by Friday!

I am ready to help, but I am not sure how to join a team. I am doing RC5 now, is it a similar method? Is the client easy to configure? Thanks.

When you intall the program make a user.txt file and put [TA]Captain Howdy in the file, if that's what you want for your name then just place that in the Dpad folder.

There's also a config.txt in the dpad folder for making changes.

Thanks for your help.

The default set of parameters in config.txt is fully sufficient for most crunchers: i detects automatically the number of processors (logical and physical), connects automatically to the server, uploads and downloads needed files, etc.

Thanks for your effort!

Ok, looks like it is set up correctly. I have a Venice@2.2 and Barton@2.0 on it at the moment. I hope to have it on a Tbred@1.6 and a P4 by the end of the weekend. I am assuming it is best to run in background mode?

That was the remote dually. Found it, fixed it. :)

I know it's late to the party, but I got the PIII's working. 4 of 'em running XPe.

We absolutely (without a doubt) have more then enough power to take on Free-DC...

We are however spread thin over many projects. All you other TA crunchers, come help your brother TA crunchers with DPAD! ;)

I think I spoke too soon! The debugging is very difficult because I have no symbol tables nor source code.

Stephen Brooks sent me a debug version to try. It generates a GP fault with a floating point stack fault. Not exactly what I'm getting with the current version. It's in the same routine, though. I think that it's trying to create a temporary file and the rand() routine fails somehow.

I'll be working on it all weekend and rabrittain will be helping me, since I don't have XP x86 to run a parallel on.

If the x86 version works on his machine, I'll have Rex apply his FX-60 to DPAD, which will help a little.
