No offense meant, but I don't think there's an easier field to get a 4.0 in than grad classes in education. I was in a pilot program through UBuff - I ended up switching to a different program because I couldn't stand the poor quality of education coming from those classes. (Later, I discovered they're all about the same.) Nonetheless, virtually everyone got their master's in that program with a 4.0. All you had to do was to complete your assigned tasks - 20 page papers, etc. If your papers met the criteria for the papers, it was pretty much an automatic A. Thus, "top of class" for education classes is an exaggeration.

Good luck to your wife though - there's no way in the world I'd be a teacher in NYC at their salary. In my neck of the woods, my annual salary as a teacher exceeds the cost of my house. AND, no gangs in the schools, no drug problems in the schools, almost no students miss more than 20 days of school in a school year. I've only had 1 student skip a class in 10 years. No fights in the school. I'm not sure what you do, but unless you love the city & make good money, then moving out of the city very well could offer a higher standard of living for your wife's salary.

I'm not jumping to the conclusion, just converting buzzwords ("increase diversity throughout city positions) into what I view is logical and raising a question. Also, white jews in NYC does not equal southern/mid-western raised white. White jews are considered locals, while mid-westerners are often othered. I used to do the othering myself, considering most of them hicks! Which is completely wrong and pig headed of me, but I've grown a bit since then.

You know why the NYPD wants black cops to work in black areas? Because black cops are tougher. They speak the language. They are more qualified to work in black areas.
