A former teacher convicted of having sex with a 15-year-old student in 2009 has been re-arrested - after her teen victim was found hiding in her closet.

Lisa Lavoie, 26,a former teacher at Holyoke middle school, was caught after a probation officer made an unannounced visit to her home.

He discovered the victim, now 18, hiding in Lavoie's close

Not sure how she could be arrested for having an 18 year old in her home...

Edit-I see that she was ordered not to have any contact with her former victim and his family.

FTR-I'd totally scrog that.

Meh. The "no future contact" clause of her probation should have ended when he was of legal age anyway.

Because he's old enough to decide if he wants to see his abuser or not.

the court order was against her not to see him, not the other way around. he was not accused or convicted of any crime she was. it does not matter if he is legally an adult or not. the ruling says she is to have no contact with HIM or HIS FAMILY, im pretty sure the kids parents are over 18.

I am glad they included a picture of the closet where the said crime of hiding an adult in the closet was committed... I couldn't picture it in my mind.

Strange.

So a probabtion officer has the power to enter her house without a warrant and search through her closet?

Yeah, as others have said, this is a little odd. He is 18 now, shouldn't he have the right to cancel the restraining order his parents put in place against her (if that is what it really was)? And he went to her house, she didn't come to him, wouldn't that show that he wants this relationship to continue?

If she was chasing around other young boys, ok. But this is the same guy, and he is of age. Time to let it go.

In most jurisdictions, yes, this is true. Being on parole or probation has certain terms and conditions that are spelled out in agreement that is signed before the person is returned to the public. Depending on the nature of the probation, it's pretty standard to have a prohibition about drug and alcohol use and a clause that lets the PO search your person and property at any time for compliance.

...scrog?
A new one for me, too.

"We're not coming out the closet. You can just go away."

:)
Just like how every article about obesity includes a picture of a fat person.
"Oh, is that what they're talking about? Ooooohhhhh, ok. I was thinking about a coal mine."
