Age of Consent in Alabama is 16. Wasn't even her student.
Don't know the age of the student, but there's a really good chance the relationship would have been 100% legal and legit if she wasn't employed by the school.

Not about the age of the student. There are such laws in a few places barring relations with persons under your 'authority'. Includes Scouts, coaches, counselors and so on.

lol it's funny because you might as well make a law that says "You cannot have sex with anyone that isn't as powerful as your position in the workplace". Because that's pretty much what this is.
But yeah, at the student level this type of law is pure stupidity. So the kid could drop-out and then it would be legal?

Yeah. In Alabama, the drop out rate is typically high enough that the odds are in the Teacher's favor when they sign those agreements.
