Children not your "thing" to take care of? Go take care of old people or the invalid. Still feel like smacking the snot out of them? Well, taking care of people is clearly not something you should be doing.

I thought this is how they treated children normally in those countries?

In the past you could get away with hitting a child in Asia. Not anymore. Cameras are placed in the classrooms, hallways, etc... The public does not and will not tolerate this type of behavior anymore.

Now, things are different in Asia. Touching isn't a big deal and it's often encouraged. They like their teachers to play with the children, so a bond is formed with teacher and pupil. When I taught in South Korea for 2 years I had kindergarten kids sit in my lap. I would pick them up and throw them in the air. I remember doing this in front of the actual parents. They loved it! Because it showed that I liked their child. In America, I would have been thrown in jail.

I read that a monk from Thailand had a difficult time in Arizona, because he was taking photos of school children waiting for the bus stop. He got pulled over by the police and was questioned. In Thailand, it's perfectly acceptable to take random pictures of children. In America, you'll see the inside of a jail cell.

Having served in the infantry in both Iraq and Afghanistan I've noticed that sometimes when certain things happen I get this like, red-screen blackout auto pilot mode reaction, and bad things sometimes happen lightning fast in a 0 to 9,000 adrenaline fueled blood rage before I "come to" again. It's crazy.

You probably have a lot in common with the lady who smacked the shit out of that toddler. 🙁
