OP was infracted earlier for the thread title, and asked to change the thread title. -Admin DrPizza

Wait, what? You're saying that a story about Christians persecuting a young child for not being a Christian is a story about Christians being persecuted? I think you need to send your logic center in for a tune-up. This would be like saying the story about police choking Garner in NYC is police persecution.

Wait... in the spirit of P&N, should we say this was "only a few bad Christian apples?" It's amazing to see the disconnect when you belong to a group that's doing the persecuting - suddenly a story pointing it out is persecuting your group.

nickqt was being sarcastic I believe.

Yes, totally sarcastic.

I read the posts from people complaining about the ChristianPersecution™ and just wanted to share my own personal story showing the very same ChristianPersecution™ that poor, poor Christian Americans suffer from every holiday season.

Let me guess: you consistently discount stories reporting "allegations" of wrongdoing when he alleged wrongdoer is an alleged extreme lefty. And we can find numerous examples of this principled behavior by you if we check the archives.

Have I got that correct?

Yep, for once you got something correct :)

This troll thread should be locked. Even if there was something to be discussed he colored it with anti Christian hate and made it a pure troll thread.

OR...or...stay with me here, we could discuss the article and the implications in a civilized manner, like my abortion quote earlier!

No, but seriously, the school district is now saying that the suing party's attorney has misrepresented the facts of the case:

Our investigation in March found she acted appropriately in dealing with an issue between students in a significantly different manner than detailed in the lawsuit.
(from here: http://wane.com/2015/08/04/fwcs-responds-to-lawsuit-against-teacher/ )

End result, someone(s) is lying. Whether that be the child, the mother, the ACLU attorney, the teacher, or the school district administration, who knows? (I'll go with Professor Plum, in the Ballroom, with the Candlestick)

And I *do* find it odd that the ACLU is suing *just* the teacher, and not the district as a whole.

That's different from what they said at first. I thought that was the reason the school system was not sued just the teacher. Wonder if the school system will be added now they have come out with this statement vs the earlier one.

"In a statement, the school district suggested that the teacher had been wrong to single out the child."

The kid should be punished for lying. Not believing in god is NOT a reason a 7 year old doesnt go to church. A 7 year old doesnt go to church because his parents dont make him go to church.

After the third day, she checked the closet where she put him and when he wasn't there, she logically assumed he had ascended to heaven and she began a new religion.

Maybe you should take your own advice and "Stay Classy" instead of trolling.

We get it, you hate Christians and are quite bigoted against them.

That's not all he hates. I'm atheist and he hates me too! He's an equal opportunity hater.

You see? Stupidity does not discriminate. Every group of people has an idiot among them. Every single one. Even atheists. But I want to make this one thing clear: He's not an idiot because he's an atheist, he's an idiot because he's a hatetheist.

She should be put to death to go meet her God. And the principal also for allowing it. Assuming he/she lives God too. Time to met him.

Uh no. How is that any different than extremist Muslims lopping people's heads off for not belonging to the same faith as them?

Sounds like a local problem. It seems many schools try to indoctrinate children in many different ways. That is why parents need to talk to their children about what is going on at school on a regular basis. This is a case where a trip to go and talk to the principal is a good idea before you call your lawyer.

My daughter who is half Korean did not like the fact that they put down on her records that she was Mongoloid. Mongolia conquered Korea and Koreans tend to dislike being classified as Mongolians. They were considered savage invaders.

I see no reason to force children into some convenient racial group. This is discrimination.

But what other invaders have their leader glorified in stainless steel, that has got to be cool if nothing else.

Well, if it happened the way suit alleges, teacher (and next teacher in line to reprimand the student) were totally out of line.

"Oh, he told you that? Well, he's allowed to believe whatever he wants. When you get home today, you should ask your parents about why some people might not believe the same way you do. Back to the playground, now!" <-- that would be a good, appropriate response I think. For either side.

I can't decide if the failure here is because of the plain stupidity of the the adults involved (I mean, they're Christians, 'nuff said), or... nevermind, really that's all that this comes down to. Stupid Christians victimizing a second grader because his honesty made them uncomfortable. Stay classy!
Another troll thread,,,,,stay classy dude!!

I'm also getting tired of all this Christian persecutions. And by "persecution" I mean people attacking our beliefs and spewing hate. I just don't understand were it comes from.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to pretend to drink my God's blood this Sunday and dedicate my life to banning abortion for everyone because I think that's what my God wanted even though the Bible states the contrary.

I actually went to a Forest Park elementary school in Indiana in the late 60's.

I doubt it is the same one, as they are several.

The story itself does not surprise me much, all things considered, and the general mind set.

I grew up I guess.

One of the most amusing times in my life was when I took a Philosophy Course at Chaminde University of Honolulu around 1982, which is a Catholic college to begin with and I guess I'm a lapsed Lutheran.

Was amusing some guy started arguing with me on quotes from the Bible and I asked him to give me proof the Bible was even valid and eyebrows went up all over the place.

Probably hurt my grade a bit :p

Martin Luther never got along with the Pope much, even if the two are pretty closely related.
