How long do you guys normally keep your pillows? I have bought a few from target and walmart and they all seem to suck. I buy the firm ones and they're ok for about a week. After that, they seem to provide zero support for my neck and the stuffing seems to be about 1/2 as thick as it originally was under my neck/head. I keep them for anywhere from 6 months to a year before I get pissed off and get a new one.

Is there some pillow maintanence protocol I'm missing? Should I be buying pillows from somewhere else? What kind do you guys use? Please, let me understand what I'm doing wrong.

Get the memory foam one from walmart, its the bomb, and I love it. I used to be a all feathers pillow guy, but Im glad I got this one in place of it. I used to have headaches all the time, but now with the new pillow its not near as often, or as bad.

Other then that, I never bought the cottn/polyester type ones, no matter how much you pay for one, they always go flat on me in about a month. The the feather ones I would keep till the lost too many feathers. Just be sure to buy a good cover on them, not pillow case cover but a regular cover, and it will keep your pillow fresh and not get the night funk and sweat all inside your pillow, and you wont have to wash it as often.

pillow gets 1/2 as thick, use a different one until it gets to 1/2 as thick, then use them together and voila, full thickness again :p

I have some fly ass Polo pillows filled with real down but I spent a goddamn fortune on them. They have a tightly knit fiber that holds in the feathers. Recommended if you have the cash or can wait for a sale.

king-size pillows from target (softest they have) + pillow protector.

I don't really have a hard rule as to when I replace them, typically 6-12 months or until they start looking beat-up.
