I have the Teac 12x10x32x CDRW drive, and it as CD-W512EB. When i was looking at the firmware upgrades on www.cdrinfo.com, i noticed that there was a CD-W512E and a CD-W512EB. what is the difference between these two? I cant seem to figure it out...anyone enlighten me? Thanks...

well i just found out what the difference between the model numbers is. Here is the response from Teac:

Hello Phil,
The new drive CDW512EB has the feature of Burn Proof, which helps to eliminate the buffer underruns.

TEAC America, Inc.

I guess i lucked out then....i didnt realize that they made a burnproof model, since i couldnt find it on their site, unless they just updated it. Therefore, none of the statements about burnproof being useless on a fast system arent necessarily true, since the fact that i burned 20 straight cds could have been attributed to burn proof.

Uh... who's the one that's stupid and should leave the forum?

Observe, Watson. Zhitnik's post was made at 5:08PM, mine was at 5:09PM, when I came in the thread Zhitnik's post was not there, the chances are he hit the reply button before I did. You're too stupid if you think I was simply copying the information from him, oh how can I forget, you cant comprehend any of what I just said, nevermind.

Keep us informed on the performance. The seek time of 85ms has impressed me. Looks like the best drive in its class for the $value.
Let us know about software performance, etc .
For $157 including manual, shipping, cable, this is the best deal around. WWW.esbuy.com. I have not seen any post except on this forum.
