I would never take spidey up on his $500 bet because I don't think he will pay up if he loses.

x2.

He'll welch, that's why he won't forward the money. If he was a man and serious about his bet he'd let someone else hold the money for the winner in Nov

So is the new Republican welfare plan? Take some do-nothing perennial loser who could barely graduate college, nominate them to some high office, lavish them with money, watch them mumble their idiotic ideas, get crushed in the vote, and retire to twitter, facebook and looney book deals to keep the gravy train going.

So where do you think she's shopping with Spidey's money now? Macy's? Nordstrom's?
Guessing she won't remain a renter for much longer.

Being in public office is no piece of cake! I mean, look at how unhappy Michelle Obama is at having to slum on constant vacations to places like Marbella, Spain on the taxpayers dime!

And whatever makes you think that Christine O'Donnell is going to lose? Something that the political pundits that have a vested interest in the staus quo said influencing your admittedly shallow thinking?

It is time to Tea Party!

LOL!

It's coming. The tidal wave is coming. There is nothing liberals can do to stop We The People. We're strong, we're motivated and we're united. Tax paying, hard working citizens of this country have simply had enough. No RINO's. No liberals. NOBAMA.

Yes a tidal wave is coming. Especially when people know more about Christine O'Donnell, like that she also was against women serving in the military because "it hurts our nations readiness".
Ohhh... ok
Now.. who was it that wanted to bet $500?
Only if the funds are first put up on both sides into a trust.
Don't want to have to hunt you down later...

Rasmussen polling from Sept. 2 had Castle ahead of Coons by 11 points (48 to 37).

Rasmussen polling from Sept. 2 also had Coons ahead of O'Donnell by 11 points (47 to 36).

I think it's amusing that O'Donnell winning the primary is somehow viewed as bad news for Democrats by some of our resident posters. Frankly, it's the best thing that could have happened for Coons.

At this point in history all sides are looking for ideological purity.

The Democrats have chosen the "progressive" agenda lock, stock and barrel, though now they hide their heads and avoid credit as well as the leadership that spurred them on.

The Republicans, knowing theirs is the Party that should have reflected Tea Party ideals of fiscal conservatism but didn't once they were in power, might still seek to distance themselves from this populist call to return to the root causes that once brought their Party to power. But they know in their heart of hearts that it is their true path and that they only have to embrace it, as they once did, to win. They have to let their inner populism out.

Many voters on both sides will ignore personal frailties to elect their nominated candidates, particularly those who are ideologically pure.

The difference this day is that the energy and the will to win rests only with the Republicans, the Tea Partiers, the Conservatives and the Libertarians. They are joined by the Independents that have no love for these groups but have grown to despise the corruption and abject failures of the Democrats.

I see many here with pretensions to sophistication and political correctness reject the current populism of the Tea Partiers. In an earlier day they rejected Ronald Reagan as just an actor. They reject Governor Sarah Palin as a bumpkin from Alaska, even while she has become the most effective king maker in recent memory, effectively influencing election after election.

They reject the common life and all too familiar failings of O'Donnell now. But, I believe that O'Donnell's history of struggle and adversity is now also the story of many, many voters. They no longer can make wisecracks about someone like O'Donnell. Not when they, or their friends, or their relatives have also faced financial disaster from unemployment, bureaucratic enmity, other's bad judgments and advice, poor self management and, sometimes, just poor luck.

So what if she has a conservative faith based outlook on life? Many voters do, and many who don't have come to value what such faith provides in hard times. And these are not just registered voters, they are voters that are damn certain to go out and campaign, make donations and vote this election.

O'Donnell just beat tremendous odds, she is a cute, loveable underdog, a mutt running against a Democrat lawyer that has a local reputation for being unfriendly and imperious.

Don't get me wrong, I happen to know Chris Coons and he is a competent guy with a very interesting life story. But he should be more worried about O'Donnell with a tremendous wind at her back than he was about a lifelong politico like Castle whose day has come and gone.

The saying goes that it is better to be lucky than good. O'Donnell just got lucky and I watched her on the news last night and today making new friends with thousands of ordinary people all around the country, not to mention important national Republican backers that had no prior plans to work this campaign. She will be backed by a citizenry, Democrat and Republican and Independent, that has come to despise the fancy pants lawyers that have marginalized this country and are coming close to bankrupting it.

Coons is a fighter, but he today came out and said he would have voted for the health care bill and the other major items of the progressive Democrat agenda. He declared himself a rubber stamp, though not in so many words. And for that he will likely lose this election.

Nah, our royals are dull as hell.

Italian politics has the sex and corruption thing (also Berlusconi is funny as hell, again as long as you dont live there).
Former soviet states has the violence and corruption thing going.
France has the 'who us? racist? never!' thing.
You lot have the bat shit crazy thing down.

Since you seem to know much about Coons and admit he has experience, what exactly are O'Donnell's qualifications or experience to be a U.S. Senator?

Or does it matter, since she is "cute & lovaable"?

I don't know O'Donnell at all and have not been following the Delaware race until yesterday. I guess you can look up her qualifications on line if you really care.

Delaware is one of the most business friendly places around and I set up a number of deals there. Still incorporate there as a matter of fact. Their Court of Chancery is the only court of equity left in the U.S., absolutely the best.

I'm gregarious and I like to meet the locals and Delaware is a really small State so I met everyone - Minner, Markell, Biden, Carper, Castle, Coons, Baker (Mayor of Wilmington, liked him the best.)

I have nothing against Chris Coons other than he is a Democrat in a year where Democrats need to be thrown out of office. In talking to Chris Matthews yesterday he pretty much said that he would have rubber stamped and voted for all of the major Democrat legislation that was ramrodded through in the current Congress.

Coons is a bright guy. He is a pretty good County Executive. He would feed the flames of the disaster that is the current Democrat Congress. He needs to stay in Wilmington.

Castle is a true RINO. Delaware is split between a liberal and populous northern county, New Castle, and two southern counties, Kent and Sussex, that are much more conservative but do not have the population of the urban north. Castle, like most politicians in DE, served the base he had. Unfortunately, being a RINO, he is part of the national problem we now have.

O'Donnell is a wild card, but her political ideology, from the little I know, appeals to me this year. I don't believe our Congress should be comprised entirely of Ivy League lawyers. I like to see some diversity representing the people. O'Donnell will be part of that diversification.

I'm sorry, but how incredibly fucked in the head does one have to be to sincerely believe the nonsense she does? And she's supposed to be the change america needs to fix its problems?

I can't wait 'til Americans start debating on the Constitutional Amendment to Ban Masturbation. There's no telling where this lunacy's going to end.

Do you really think that particular opinion is unusual?

I know many people that are religious and follow a strict moral code that includes and values sexual abstinence.

It may not be for you, but it seems harmless to me. In fact, as someone with kids, I happen to feel that the sooner they start getting sexualized the more problems they will run into.

In any case, try to think back. Remember Democrat President Jimmy Carter, of "lust in my heart" fame?

It is disingenuous to knock a young girl (that clip is from 1996! Fourteen years ago when she was in her teens or early 20's!) for wanting to be pure and wanting a man to be with her rather than his hand if it comes to that.

BTW, guys, better talk to some women once in a while. A LOT of women are angry that men have chosen to fap to pron rather than get into real relationships with women. Not really the place here to get into it, but it is a big problem on many levels.

BTW, O'Donnell's WWW site now shows that she has raised over $1 million dollars in Internet contributions in the day and a half since she won the primary and the Democrats and other assorted libs started piling up on her.

Keep up the good work, guys!

Tea Party supporters work and pay taxes. Therefore we're able to give to candidates to stop Obama. We're going to outnumber, outspend and out vote any obama supporter. We have had enough.

I concluded that Sarah Palin supported Christine O'Donnell because she wants to make the election of retards more acceptable to the American voter. That way her kid has a chance of running for office in the future.

Especially the slew of Tea Party supporters who collect SS benefits.

They will use Obama's socialist money against him!

And gee, I wonder how many of them are retired gov't workers sucking on the gov'ts teat for retirement benefits, and how many of them are retired ex-military living off of their gov't provided pensions, and on and on and on. lol
