Not terribly bright are you? Genetics or childhood accident?

I'll type slowly and clearly for you, with some bolding for emphasis. See those are two separate issues.

1) The democrats have the power to pass and sign into law any legislation they choose
2) The democrats have the power to pass and sign into law any legislation at any pace they choose

So yes, the dems haven't passed shit legislatively, and they also are rushing the shit they are trying to pass through, at the same time blaming the GOP for their failures. Hope that helps.

(and no, I don't disagree the GOP is trying to block everything. Pretty much the minority playbook).

A simple 60 seat (D) majority doesn't mean all 60 are on the same page on every issue but you guys already know that.

Alchemize has problems grasping this concept...he seems to believe they all should be on the same page. A simplistic talking point from the GOP.

Nice personal attack

You must be a Republican because you obviously bitch about everything and nothing the Dems would do could ever make you happy...

Is your angst against me based on getting totally bitchslapped in the last election?

I hoped I typed this slow enough for you ;)
Nothing the GOP does ever makes me happy either. It's called being an independent thinker, something you're obviously incapable of with your Phokus emulation.

Sadly that's not really what the tea party nutjobs are after; I don't remember anyone protesting 800B war in middle east... You can't preach about fiscal conservatism and also support random expeditions to other countries.

I would guess that those people are the right wing proletariat - generally less educated, lower income and more religious. The kind of folk that thinks that gov't should be small and out of their life (i.e. no smoking bans), but at the same time get swayed by populist measures (tax oil companies, give UAW equity in bankruptcy etc. etc. )

It's never too late to start protesting something you strongly disagree with. Maybe you've heard of the phrase, "the last straw"? I'm pretty sure the collapse of the economy was the proverbial "straw" in this case.

It's sad that it took some people this long to wake up, but I'm very happy to see them finally doing so.

I'm not "right wing," and I voted for Obama, but I'm still very angry about the out-of-control spending habits we've been witnessing in Washington -- that includes the Iraq war debacle and many other things Bush wasted money on as well.

 for those who are fighting for fiscal responsibility on all fronts and regardless of petty partisan politics!

You're a little confused: It's Republicans that all think alike. That all act alike. That all subscribe to the same political philosophy that can be stated in one line:

"Cut taxes; outlaw abortions; block same-sex marriages; drill, baby, drill; let the rich be rich."

Republicans are all marionettes on strings. Put 60 Republicans in the Senate and every bill will get 60 Republican votes.

Democrats actually think for themselves. They all have different beliefs. They're not all clones of each other. Fashioning a bill that will attract 60 Democrat votes is an almost impossible feat.

You must not tune into Fox news then?
Nope, I have basic cable. But yes, democrats are completely obsessed with Fox news (and rush limbaugh) also.

Physician, heal thyself. It's your party whose membership spawned these Tea Party retards, that calls the President a liar during a joint session of Congress, and that continues to draw out the silly falsehood that the President is not eligible to serve.

Alcemize read this post, this guy know wtf he is talking about.

The GOP is using this as a "weakness" talking point which they are hoping to suck people over to there side like yourself that doesn't know shit about the democratic party in Congress.

The GOP thinks they are the only ones capable of governing this theory took a shit after Reagan took office and has been going downhill ever since.

Everytime I see Michael Steele on TV he is spewing this talking point lol

Um, no. It's really all about blue-dog democrats, who basically are closer to republicans on most issues. The rest of the dems are no different than republicans, different side of the coin, vote in lock-step.

But whatever helps you lay your little partisan head to rest on the pillow

But I ask again - whose problem is that?

Is this the democratic line:

"Raise taxes, take guns, spend, baby, spend" ?

Let's assume for the moment you're correct. Gee, that means you've just contradicted your previous post: According to this NEW post of yours, there are a sizable number of dems who don't automatically vote the party line. So, "super majority + President" DOES mean sh!t.

Which means that that sh!t to which you referred was either in your last post or this one. Your choice.

Hahahaha. You righties are such dummies.

Back on topic, in the article, this is the "nutjob" the highly partisan, GOP obsessed OP is referring to:

http://www.doughoffmanforcongress.com/issues.html

Reading his issues, he does sound much more like a "true conservative" that many of our more liberal members of this forum lament the absence of. While I don't agree with all his positions (abortion), nothing else sounds unreasonable or "nutjobbish" to me.

I guess I would call somebody a republican/democrat if they actively supported/campaigned/voted for one party over the other, not where they fall on issues. If you have to refer to me as something binary to make yourself feel better, go right ahead. I think you're smart enough to know that issues aren't ever binary, but perhaps you're partisan enough that you can't admit it.
