Actually guys, call Buy.com first. It said backorder, but when I called they said the LA wharehouse had some in stock still. I just ordered mine...=)

Actually, ElaborateBytes implicitly does not recommend Yamaha writers as of yet.

It may very well be that this particular list is outdated but probably not. They keep it updated on a regular basis. But the jury seems to be out for the new Yamahas. If they do support CloneCd in it's fullest then Yamaha will be right up there with Plextor and the like.

I should go out and buy the TDK drive, just for the hell of it, and compare them. Then I could sell it. Heh.

But I have too many things on my want list. My next purchase(read: paycheck) is going to be some memory. Going to grab some of the good stuff for my next major upgrade. Mwave has Kingmax PC15 for 90$.

Then I'm going to get a MSI K7T Pro2 (Anyone know where I could get one? None on pricewatch yet..)

Then a Thunderbird 800..

Then a IBM 75GXP 45gb and a Hedgehog, and I'll finally be able to put it together.

Waiting 3 weeks sucks. Getting paid every week rules. 🙂

I'd take the Yamaha I have an 8x8 and I love it.

AFAIK plextor makes TDK's 12x10 internals, so it's probably a good drive to.

<< Get the Plextor Plexwriter 12x10x32 w/8mb buffer and burnproof technology. >>

Not sure where that came from but the 12x10 has a 2MB buffer not 8...

I think he's talking about the new Burnproof Plextor, but it still only have 4 meg buffers. I just got this drive and it rawks.

Ok, for the few who missed it ( i.e, me )
Which drive is....

1) fastest?

2) has the BEST DAE

3) the better of the 3?

( TDK, PleX, and Yamaha )

Where can I find the review of the TDK and the Yamaha?
Thank you again.
